IC INTRO - FEB
The first thing the new arrivals will see, as the sun sets, is a set of distant lights turning on - the roof of the Station, perched on the cliffs above the beach.
The next thing, probably, will be the exploratory drone, a flying chrome thing about the size of a horse, descending near them, wherever they are.
"I can't believe it spat out people this time," says a voice through the speakers - androgynous, somehow sounding young and old enough to be incredibly tired.
Another voice, almost identical but almost unmistakably that of a different speaker from the cheerful tone, says, "Worry about it later! Hey, do you want a ride?"
And with that, the door of the drone's cargo bay opens.
--> WELCOME, NEW ARRIVALS.
Drones drop characters off on the well-lit lower section of the roof, where a pair of tall, gangly humanoids meet them. The two are clearly artificial, formed of silver metal and white silicone, and perfectly identical... Except for their standing posture, which is very different.
The one on the right, a step further back, looks indisputably excited, and peers at the new arrivals curiously. The one on the left has a bag slung over their shoulder, clearly thrown together at the last moment and not completely closed. They take a step forward and say, in a calm tone, "Hello. My name is Strange. Do you have any injured?"
A few minutes after the characters start to arrive, a third android bursts out of the door into the station, exclaiming (in the same voice as the rest), "Here! Wear these!" before shoving a purple scarf at Strange and a red scarf at the curious one. The new android is already wearing an orange scarf.
Once all characters have been brought up, the remaining three androids arrive on the roof, wearing green, dark blue, and white scarves. The one in white hangs back a little from the others, while the one in blue carries themselves with authority.
"Welcome to Keystone Station," says the one in blue, in a voice that must have the volume enhanced to carry across the entire roof. "You may call me Up. My siblings and I have been maintaining the station in the absence of our creators, and researching the phenomenon that brought you here, which we call Fissures. ...I am sorry to say that we have no way to return you to your worlds at this time, so please accept our hospitality."
They bow, low at the waist, and that seems to be a signal to the rest of the group to break up and join the confused, milling group of new arrivals.
--> INDIVIDUAL NPC TOP-LEVELS
Strange - Charm - Top - Bottom - Up - Down
--> THE REST OF THE STATION
Once explanations have been made as much as they can be, the newly arrived characters are set loose to explore the station itself. The labs are currently closed off, as is the door down to the generator level, but characters are welcome to explore anywhere else they please.
The androids, too, depart the roof, each setting off with a distinct task in mind. Charm and Bottom can be found on the lowest accessible level, the two of them working magic on stored seeds long into the night in order to tempt the infant plants into growing. Up and Strange vanish into the labs, (which open to characters the next day, the biology lab having been converted to a medical bay, along with the generator level).
Top and Down, meanwhile, make their home in the central gathering room of the residential floor for the night. Down is distributing network devices from a case at their side, while Top is noting down character housing arrangements and who is taking which of the station's rooms.
There's also a table set up near them, which is covered in a variety of snack foods that characters can grab and munch on before they head off for the night. Most of the packages have sand or dried salt clinging to them, indicating well enough their origins, and the expiry dates are of course all over the place even on the snacks characters might recognize... But it's certainly something to eat, isn't it?
--> THE NEXT MORNING
When characters come into the common room the next day, there's a set of large boxes on either side of the couch-filled lower area. One side is full of clothes of approximately modern Earth origin, loosely sorted by fit. A note tacked to the boxes says Limit yourself to one outfit, please!
The boxes on the other side of the room are empty. A clip-board set on a white folding table in the middle has a piece of paper and a black pen strung to it;
Finally, those who adventure into either kitchen will find a box of plain donuts left out on the counters.

What "this" is... is a banker's box full of cardstock in various colors, and a plan unmarked DVD in a jewel case. He plucks the DVD out and dangles it from a finger. "Is this some kind of decoration or something? A light catcher?"

[Later on, she can be seen in the kitchen itself, carefully mixing up some kind of frosting with the powdered sugar and some chopped-up fruit and melted chocolate. If anyone comes in, she turns to look at them, waving.]
Hey, don't take those donuts yet, okay? I'm trying to make some icing.

[Izunia lurks around the edges of the roof, more listening (and listening in) than asking questions of the group's new hosts. Eventually, however, he looks up - ]
...Well, now isn't that a view.
[Has anyone else looked up at the thousands of unfamiliar stars? Well, if you haven't, it's the kind of view someone on Earth would only get deep in the mountains - there's no light pollution around save the station, and the sky is clear.
As for Izunia? He's going to warp up to the higher, darker level of the roof for a better view.]
Common room
[After immediately laying claim to Apartment 11], Izunia wanders back to the common area...
And stops dead in front of the box of snacks, seemingly paralyzed by indecision.
...Oh, hells.
[It's possible that he's just going to reach blindly into the box and grab whatever he puts his hand on first. Play it cool, Izunia, play it cool...
Yeah, he's realized that he's about to experience a sense of taste for the first time in thousands of years, there will be no playing it cool today.]

So it's the next morning when he finally appears to explore, and since he vaguely remembers passing through the upper floors on his way to the apartments the night before, Prompto decides to continue vaguely downwards--and it's there on Level 2 that his explorations stop, because he's found the chicken room. And that's where he stays, cooing over the little guys, trying to figure out what they eat, and taking phone cam photos.]
Aw, you're all so itty bitty...!
no subject
Hey, Kate, where are you going?
[And then an aggressive-looking serpent bursts into the room, hissing loudly with her hood spread as she glares at the chickens. Before she can strike, though, a walking stick is stuck in front of her, and her trainer stumbles in front.]

Once he has his device in hand-- well, in a pillowcase turned into a satchel, since his clothes don't have pockets, and his usual means for carrying things doesn't work in these small spaces-- and his room marked down for later (hopefully a bigger one he can shift in, but he's not going to hold his breath for that), Stone at least attempts to explore. He pokes his nose into various rooms, whether they are occupied or not or private spaces or not, ambles along the hallways, collects handfuls of the available snack foods to taste, and follows various scents to places like the gardens and the labs, though the latter won't let him in until the next day, oops.
He's also ready with questions for anyone else who got dumped into this mess. "So where are you from?" he usually starts off with.
II.
Stone has discovered his new favorite thing: donuts. Donuts are amazing. The frosting is better than honey, and the little sprinkles are so confounding but he has to pick up every single one with a finger when they fall off the donut, and eat each one. "What the shit are these things?" he demands of anyone who comes into the kitchen. "And how do I get more of them?"

Which just means she's got to turn the situation around.

[Aya is going to be frantically scrawling in a conspicuous notebook for most of the evening. There is so much Stuff here to document for whenever she gets back to Gensokyo. She also has a camera, completely separate from her communicator (she opted for a headset type, now nestled snugly behind one ear), that she is snapping pictures of whatever looks interesting. This repeats the following morning after the labs open, concentrated on those areas.
She does stop long enough to pick out a somewhat more formal-looking outfit than the one she arrived in; there's something to be said for comfort but she's a professional and she wants to be able to dress like it.]
Kitchen
[Eventually, though, she has to eat, and she is not a good hand at cooking. Being able to get anywhere real fast can make you real impatient, see, so she is going straight for the snacks. There is a fairly large pile of flavored sunflower seeds behind her as she gets to something that she thinks won't make a certain sunflower-loving youkai kill her repeatedly if she ever ever finds out about it. Eventually she settles on apple chips and moves over to the fridge, which... is completely absent of any alcohol whatsoever, as it happens. She glares at it, even knowing that won't do anything.]
Is there no booze anywhere in here...?

She does spend some time out and about, though - in the east kitchen, making herself an omelette with the green eggs and the electric spice grubsauce (and possibly tossing a couple of packages of the Troll Cup Noodles into her sylladex for later), and later poking idly through the boxes of clothes in the common room, although she doesn't seem to be choosing anything.]

After that, he pretty quickly lays claim to room 8 and is forced to sleep by Akira and Kurama.
He's up early the next morning, nursing a cup of coffee as he raids the kitchen for anything edible and a little more nutritious than donuts. He still looks a bit bleary, but that might have to do with the fact that he's only halfway through his morning caffeine.
Later, he can be found at the clothing box, looking for a second outfit that isn't his Metaverse clothing. He seems to be gravitating toward bright reds and other flashy, gaudy clothes. Somebody stop him.]

He sets up in room 7 after he and Akira get Goro settled in for some rest. Two rooms between the three of them should work well enough for now...
With the immediate things settled, Kurama is going to explore the station, so he can be found almost anywhere. Politely, he refrains from ignoring any locks, staying to the open access areas. Which is how he finds Charm and Bottom working on coaxing tiny seedlings to grow faster. It's much easier and quicker for him to make them grow and mature with his ki; this is his specialty, after all.]
I think I can take over this duty for as long as I'm here. It doesn't really take me much energy to grow such tame plants.
[That would be why, the next morning, Kurama sets a box of fresh mixed berries next to the donuts in the kitchen. Fruit at least has some actual nutritional value...]

In the morning, though, she has to acknowledge the truth: her clothing is beyond fixing without some repair skills and equipment that she doesn't actually have. It'll last her until she can get some new clothes...which is exactly what she can get thanks to the clothing box in the common room.
Unfortunately, she is going to do just what it says on the box: take one outfit, and one outfit only. The problem with this is that Charlie has no sense of fashion and no desire to bother with it. She tends to wear just denim and plain shirts; she looks presentable and not much else most of the time. The best one can hope for is that it'll be color-coordinated...]
[After successfully getting a new, functional outfit, she can be found wandering the areas of the station that characters are allowed into, quiet, a ghost getting used to its new haunt or something like that. At least she has a happy face. That's better than nothing.
She seems genuinely happy around the baby chickens, even if she doesn't quite know how to interact with them, though.]
