bathed in scarlet from the setting sun
Who: Yuuri and you!
What: Yuuri does something that bears a passing resemblence to settling in at the Keystone Station. In practical terms, this translates to sticking her nose into just about everything and doing a metric fuckton of stresscooking.
When: The week or so following the IC intro log.
Where: One prompt in the kitchen closest to Room #43 and one in the annex! As well as a general wildcard.
Warnings: Nothing currently worth warning for! Some passing references to murdergame unpleasentness might come up in the comments, though.
[ It's been a few days since the group of new arrivals landed back at the station and apart from the little pizza party set up for them, Yuuri hasn't really been up to mingling. She's not been shut up in her room, but she's been keeping to herself and the people she knows, for the most part. It's safer that way.
Restlessness is a funny little thing, though, and when you've started getting used to a life beyond staring at four walls again, it creeps up on you faster than you'd like. So as anxious and wound up as she is about this whole... everything, Yuuri figures that there probably isn't any harm in starting to familiarize herself with their new surroundings.
She mostly sticks to the main building, like she doesn't want to stray too far from the people she'd arrived with. While she's out and about, you'll mostly find her on the viewing deck and the roof – nice, outdoorsy places. If you want to catch her for anything, you might as well do it now. ]
annex
[ Yuuri's already looked around the annex briefly on her first night here, but she'd been a bit too frazzled to really take any of it in. Now, though, she's more prepared to explore.
She starts off poking around in the changing rooms, with a slightly hopeful look on her face. This whole setup looks very much like a public bath and her hopes are raised even higher when she opens the door and sees what looks like a huge bath. But then she gives the rules a proper look, sees the words hot tub and scrunches up her nose. Boo, disappointment.
Thankfully, the greenhouse is much less of a disappointment. She gives the place a long, slow circuit, and without even realizing it, she's already started to smile. After having a whole garden to tend to, the downsize in Tokyo had been a little hard to get used to. But a whole greenhouse? She's right at home.
If you're the planty sort as well, you'll probably find Yuuri here at some point or other, tending to the flowers and the plants with the easy, practiced hand of an experienced gardener. It's the most relaxed she's looked since arriving. ]
kitchen
[ Because of course Yuuri would end up in the kitchen. Of course.
It's not a one-off occasion, either. There's kitchenettes in each of the apartments, of course. But those seem to be a little too small for Yuuri's purposes. Mostly at mealtimes but occasionally at odd hours, too, you'll find her in the kitchen, busily cooking enough food to feed an army. Most of it is Japanese food, but some of it's decidedly not. And sometimes it's not even food at all, but baked goods.
But it all looks and smells very good so you might as well come and investigate, right? ]

[This is a lot of food, is she planning on feeding the entire Station by herself? She'd ask more, but the smell reminds her why she came in here.]
What's that you're making, anyway?

[ She gives the pot another stir, and fishes out a ladleful of that spicy smelling stuff to give it a look before pouring it back into the rest of the broth. ]
It's chicken curry! Or the base, at least. I haven't added any meat yet.

[Undyne gestures at the large amounts of food already scattered around from Yuuri's earlier attempts. In a display of politeness that might surprise people used to how rough and excitable she can be, she hasn't tried to touch any of it yet- it'd be wrong to just steal someone's work without warning, even if it's edible.]

[ she'll mother hen this entire station if she has to. don't think she won't. ]

[Undyne grins and immediately grabs something to start snacking on. This is a hungry, hungry fish lady, okay.]
Yeah, sometimes you gotta look out for people, it's important.
[She nods gravely at Yuuri's answer, as though she's a responsible chef and not one of the people here mostly likely to set the kitchen on fucking fire, apparently totally unaware of the hypocrisy.]

Especially in a place like this, where all we really have to rely on is each other. We need to make sure we stick together.

[This giant buff fishwoman is apparently dead serious about the power of friendship, she doesn't look like she's joking at all.]
Plus once you do team up, you get to use that strength to beat the crap out of whoever tries to stop you.
[Now that part she grins for.]

It's certainly one less thing to worry about when you know you've got the bite to back up your bark. Things might be quiet now, but you never know when they could turn.
no subject
[Undyne looks a little more sober at the thought, remembering how she got here in the first place. There'd been no warning when the human arrived, just the sudden reports of death after death and having to charge after them before they could hurt anyone else.]
[She forces a grin back on her face, gesturing at the food.]
But hey, at least now we know we'll have enough fuel for our bodies, to keep us all in fighting shape. A healthy meal is one of the most important weapons a fighter can have.
