bathed in scarlet from the setting sun

Who: Yuuri and you!
What: Yuuri does something that bears a passing resemblence to settling in at the Keystone Station. In practical terms, this translates to sticking her nose into just about everything and doing a metric fuckton of stresscooking.
When: The week or so following the IC intro log.
Where: One prompt in the kitchen closest to Room #43 and one in the annex! As well as a general wildcard.
Warnings: Nothing currently worth warning for! Some passing references to murdergame unpleasentness might come up in the comments, though.

[ It's been a few days since the group of new arrivals landed back at the station and apart from the little pizza party set up for them, Yuuri hasn't really been up to mingling. She's not been shut up in her room, but she's been keeping to herself and the people she knows, for the most part. It's safer that way.

Restlessness is a funny little thing, though, and when you've started getting used to a life beyond staring at four walls again, it creeps up on you faster than you'd like. So as anxious and wound up as she is about this whole... everything, Yuuri figures that there probably isn't any harm in starting to familiarize herself with their new surroundings.

She mostly sticks to the main building, like she doesn't want to stray too far from the people she'd arrived with. While she's out and about, you'll mostly find her on the viewing deck and the roof – nice, outdoorsy places. If you want to catch her for anything, you might as well do it now. ]

annex

[ Yuuri's already looked around the annex briefly on her first night here, but she'd been a bit too frazzled to really take any of it in. Now, though, she's more prepared to explore.

She starts off poking around in the changing rooms, with a slightly hopeful look on her face. This whole setup looks very much like a public bath and her hopes are raised even higher when she opens the door and sees what looks like a huge bath. But then she gives the rules a proper look, sees the words hot tub and scrunches up her nose. Boo, disappointment.

Thankfully, the greenhouse is much less of a disappointment. She gives the place a long, slow circuit, and without even realizing it, she's already started to smile. After having a whole garden to tend to, the downsize in Tokyo had been a little hard to get used to. But a whole greenhouse? She's right at home.

If you're the planty sort as well, you'll probably find Yuuri here at some point or other, tending to the flowers and the plants with the easy, practiced hand of an experienced gardener. It's the most relaxed she's looked since arriving. ]

kitchen

[ Because of course Yuuri would end up in the kitchen. Of course.

It's not a one-off occasion, either. There's kitchenettes in each of the apartments, of course. But those seem to be a little too small for Yuuri's purposes. Mostly at mealtimes but occasionally at odd hours, too, you'll find her in the kitchen, busily cooking enough food to feed an army. Most of it is Japanese food, but some of it's decidedly not. And sometimes it's not even food at all, but baked goods.

But it all looks and smells very good so you might as well come and investigate, right? ]

kitchens, super late in the week

[By now, Yuuri has probably noticed that there are, in fact, two kitchens, and that Izunia usually makes use of the other one, not out of any desire to avoid Ardyn and company but simply because his room is so much closer to it, positioned as it is on the far side of the Station.

Which means it's probably a good bit of a surprise to her when he wanders in around dinnertime, wearing black skinny jeans and some kind of long designer teeshirt to make use of this one. Though he seems to be generally working around her and giving her plenty of space to do whatever she's doing, at least.

As to what he's making? Well, it involves deploying a large hunk of deer meat from his Armiger, so who knows. Maybe some kind of roast.]

I usually use the other, but someone decided to be terribly experimental earlier and the smell hasn't entirely cleared out.

[What smell? From his expression it's maybe better not to ask.]

I don't think half the people here have ever had to cook for themselves before. I can hardly blame them for a few mistakes.

[It's not a matter of etiquette so much as... you know, lack of skill.]

I think a "how to use this appliance without blowing up anything" lesson would be a bit more accurately targeted to this demographic.

[Also don't mind him stepping around you to the spice cupboard to gank the black pepper for his roast over there.]

...We've had those as well.

[It's suffering.]

And at least one case of a seriously damaged dishwasher.

I'm not entirely sure, but it was - overflowing may be more technically correct, but I feel to say it was bleeding all across the floor when I came in gets the idea across better.
