bathed in scarlet from the setting sun

Who: Yuuri and you!
What: Yuuri does something that bears a passing resemblence to settling in at the Keystone Station. In practical terms, this translates to sticking her nose into just about everything and doing a metric fuckton of stresscooking.
When: The week or so following the IC intro log.
Where: One prompt in the kitchen closest to Room #43 and one in the annex! As well as a general wildcard.
Warnings: Nothing currently worth warning for! Some passing references to murdergame unpleasentness might come up in the comments, though.

[ It's been a few days since the group of new arrivals landed back at the station and apart from the little pizza party set up for them, Yuuri hasn't really been up to mingling. She's not been shut up in her room, but she's been keeping to herself and the people she knows, for the most part. It's safer that way.

Restlessness is a funny little thing, though, and when you've started getting used to a life beyond staring at four walls again, it creeps up on you faster than you'd like. So as anxious and wound up as she is about this whole... everything, Yuuri figures that there probably isn't any harm in starting to familiarize herself with their new surroundings.

She mostly sticks to the main building, like she doesn't want to stray too far from the people she'd arrived with. While she's out and about, you'll mostly find her on the viewing deck and the roof – nice, outdoorsy places. If you want to catch her for anything, you might as well do it now. ]

annex

[ Yuuri's already looked around the annex briefly on her first night here, but she'd been a bit too frazzled to really take any of it in. Now, though, she's more prepared to explore.

She starts off poking around in the changing rooms, with a slightly hopeful look on her face. This whole setup looks very much like a public bath and her hopes are raised even higher when she opens the door and sees what looks like a huge bath. But then she gives the rules a proper look, sees the words hot tub and scrunches up her nose. Boo, disappointment.

Thankfully, the greenhouse is much less of a disappointment. She gives the place a long, slow circuit, and without even realizing it, she's already started to smile. After having a whole garden to tend to, the downsize in Tokyo had been a little hard to get used to. But a whole greenhouse? She's right at home.

If you're the planty sort as well, you'll probably find Yuuri here at some point or other, tending to the flowers and the plants with the easy, practiced hand of an experienced gardener. It's the most relaxed she's looked since arriving. ]

kitchen

[ Because of course Yuuri would end up in the kitchen. Of course.

It's not a one-off occasion, either. There's kitchenettes in each of the apartments, of course. But those seem to be a little too small for Yuuri's purposes. Mostly at mealtimes but occasionally at odd hours, too, you'll find her in the kitchen, busily cooking enough food to feed an army. Most of it is Japanese food, but some of it's decidedly not. And sometimes it's not even food at all, but baked goods.

But it all looks and smells very good so you might as well come and investigate, right? ]

They seem to be some kind of miniaturized winged cats, actually.

[Not quite as tired but very much the same kind of 'this may as well happen,' really.]

They're friendly enough, at least...

As far as I can tell, but I haven't exactly done a full magigenetic analysis or anything...

[One of the little winged critters is going to flutter over and give you a sniff, Yuuri! Because humans smell more interesting than androids.]

[After a considering flutter, it lands and bonks her finger.]

Well, it's not like the ecosystem would survive with nothing but apex predators, even if there's magic around.

[Tiny head pets are indeed acceptable.]

It's possible that we're actually too large to register as predators to them - they'd be barely bite-sized to something like those deer, a bear, or a wolf.

[Bottom shrugs slightly, before bending to test the soil of one of the plants to see if it needs water.]

Or it could just be Fissure magic at work again. They're not native to this world, I can tell you that much.

We see a fair few, but most of them are not nearly so friendly. And the magic of the Fissures has altered a number of creatures that were already here - the eels in the lagoon were not always nearly so large, for example.

Not right now - it's fairly difficult to reverse a magic that's been done, unless you were the person who did it. And of course, the Fissures are just erratic and wild, they're not doing anything with particular intent so far as we can tell...

Well, how familiar are you with magic in general?

[The question's not at all judgemental, at least. By now the androids have figured out to ask about baselines first.]

I imagine that by now, you've likely already heard about the effect growing more intense and complex than it had been...
