By now, every character should have at least heard about it, given the network announcement. As was promised, there will be food set up in the common area, as well as fireworks and a dunking booth. See the designated toplevels for locations, descriptions, and more! ]

Lin blinked.

"I thought...really?"

[theosophomoric]

"I think we've spent enough time together to know we're not going to drive each other batty," Sonja points out with a laugh. "I try to be prudent about my living situation, not prudish."

"Oh Sonja I'd love to!" She exclaimed, flinging her arms around her and sort of tackling her to the ground in her exuberance.

Sonja topples readily under Lin's boisterous hug, with a squeak that quickly dissolves into giggles - the suddenness had taken her a little by surprise, but it's not as if there's far to fall, already sitting on a blanket on the ground, and her defenses are quite thoroughly down around Lin.

Lin held her tight and smooched her on the cheek, also giggling. "Whatever I did to deserve you, it wasn't enough."

[theosophomoric]

Sonja grins, looping her arms around Lin's waist. "Usually when people say that sort of thing about me, it's because I've made their lives difficult," she points out cheerfully.

"If you made their lives difficult, they probably deserved it."

Lin kissed her again, then lay down with her head resting on Sonja's chest. "Also they probably didn't love you like I do.

Well, Sonja's not going to argue on the "deserved it" front, although probably her standards for deserving to have her muck around in their affairs are somewhat different from most people's.

She shifts a little, settling in with Lin held close to her - relieved that the worst of Lin's melancholy has passed, and pretty profoundly at peace in the moment. "Well, no, probably not," she admits. "I'm fantastically lucky you like me so much, honestly."

"What's not to like? You're smart, tough, adaptable, pretty. But even more than that...gosh I'm not even sure how to say it."

She sighed, contentedly. "You let me be me. I've never felt like you though I was a fool. I think most people do, even if they try to hide it."

[theosophomoric]

"Hmph. You've got plenty of sense," Sonja opines, honestly a little affronted by the suggestion of foolishness on Lin's part. A little naive, yes, but that's hardly the same thing. "Most people could stand to learn to recognize cleverness that isn't exactly their own strengths."

[fistsofchange]

"See? That's what I'm talking about." She said with a laugh. Then slightly more seriously, she went on. "It's true, I think here there are more people who honestly just want to do right by each other. People from worlds where everything turned out better than mine. But even so..."

Lin hugged her. "Even so, you still make me feel special."
