Light is... a fascinating thing, when you break down all the technicalities and scientific details that make up what it is. [ small shrug ] Which is all color itself amounts to, in the end - a bunch of rays reflecting off of multiple surfaces.

[ There's a bit of a pause. ]

And... regarding the Qliphoth... [ he tilts his head a bit ] How did that city remain safe? And what caused the miasma in the first place?

I've never learned science type things along those lines, so that's new to me. It's interesting, how detailed it really is.

[Maybe he should raid the library for books to read...it'd help pass the time at any rate]

No one's really sure how Yulia City didn't succumb to the miasma. It's protected by Dawn Age technology, and all knowledge of that age and how it worked was lost to time. Only fragments of the technology from that age are just beginning to be understood again.

As for the miasma...it's believed that the negative emotions from years of war created it. Personally, that sounds dumb to me. I imagine it started as a plague that rose from bodies of the dead not being tended to correctly.
coagmentatio: of our fucking beer. what an appropriate costume. (4 feet of snow)

[ He nods. ]

A lot of what I know about that stuff is self-taught.

[ There's a thoughtful hum. ]

... Where I'm from, miasma was considered to be a poisonous vapor or mist filled with particles from decomposed matter - miasmata - that caused illnesses. It was believed that diseases were caused by environmental factors. Things such as contaminated water, foul air, and/or poor hygienic conditions.

Given the evidence that leaned in favor of that theory, I'd say I'm inclined to agree with you.

Self-taught, huh. I don't think I know anyone who's that smart that's self-taught. At least, no one who isn't also an insufferable asshole about it.

[Dist and Jade. Just....Dist and Jade]

Most diseases are thought to be environmental on Auldrant as well, so I don't really know why the thought of the miasma not being that makes me wonder if someone wasn't trying to hide the responsibility for it. With how much else that got hidden, it wouldn't surprise me.
