Ours didn't act it. All that he did was under the guise of protecting and saving our world. We didn't...I didn't know, back then.

No one really considered what it meant, I think. That a god of war needs conflict like Leviathan needs the sea.

Though from what you said, most people considered him a god of light, not a god of war. Which would...make things even more complicated.

More or less. It was never abundantly clear, and all the others ruled over distinct elements. A misunderstanding I doubt the Draconian ever sought to correct, in other words.

[Ardyn would know and recognize why Izunia glances at his left hand, briefly - not the red mark upon the back of it, visible as a winged sword, but the place where a ring no longer rests, will never again rest.]

The Starscourge is something we'll never again have to deal with, either of us. But it isn't to him that we owe thanks for that.

[Then there's a satisfied nod, though it's at least slow enough not to set off her head.]

Good. It would have been awkward trying to figure out how to hunt down another god in a different dimension. [An almost longing sigh.] It would have been a hell of a one to add to the list, though.

Then whatever you saw of mine likely wasn't as bad as it could have been. That's...good to hear. I was worried, for a moment.

Ardyn, these days you're the most harmless-looking Lucis Caelum to ever live. I think Noctis looks more dangerous than you when he's asleep.

[She hesitates, and then hesitantly quotes that first line of his from the memory that she'd witnessed. Nothing beyond that, just a hint of what it was that she'd seen.]

"Allow me to regale you with a tale."

[A shrug then, as it to brush it all off.]

You looked plenty awful then, but I've no doubt that there was worse. I'm really hoping that I don't end up violating your privacy that much, though. And...you look a lot better now, at least?

No, it's--not really a problem, for my part. I assure you I've seen worse in regards to my own privacy, so I'm more concerned for you.

And I can't say that I care much about privacy in that regard myself. Though, at least in terms of his face doing the thing, it doesn't really get worse than what you would have seen there.

[Ruto would note, if her head's together at all, that Izunia was not physically present at the scene she echo'd off Ardyn.]

Still doesn't make it right. People understand Walkers at home, even if there aren't very many of us. Here is...more fragile, I think.

[Ruto finally manages to sit up and stay up without curling in on herself, and takes another sip from the water bottle to cover her growing embarrassment. Play it off like nothing happened. Nothing at all. Everything's fine. She totally didn't just collapse twice.

Also, she rather figures that Izunia would have been told about that scene considering how powerful it seemed to be, even if Ardyn had been rather crazy at the time.]

[Ardyn smiled, a little awkward but definitely sincere.]

How are you feeling? Do you need anything else?

[Yeah don't talk about murdergames unless you want to trigger a third Echo, honestly.]

If you think it will help, I'm carrying a number of headache remedies now.

[We don't need a third Echo, thanks, unless you two wanna lug her back to the Station and try to explain to the androids what happened.

Ruto offers the both of them a somewhat strained smile, and shakes her head carefully.]

I...don't think that there's anything that can really be done. I wanted to stick around for the fireworks at the end, but I don't think that's going to happen this time.

[She goes to stand and wobbles while her tail lashes in an attempt to counter-balance herself, and manages to at least sit back down on the sand in a controlled fashion rather than dropping.]

...though maybe I'll wait a few minutes before doing so.

[Stubborn catte is stubborn. Which means that when she goes to get up this time she practically faceplants. It's not graceful. It's also a pretty clear sign that walking Is Not Happening right now.]

[Thankfully, Ardyn had the decency not to laugh at the sight. He just held out his hand with a small, awkward smile.]

I can take you back without a problem, if that's alright. I could use a short break myself.

We'd rather have you be safe than dignified. Don't worry, no one's going to tell.

[With a sigh Ruto reaches out to accept the hand up. Things at least go a little better this time around, but she's clinging to him a little harder than she'd be entirely willing to admit to anyone else. Fortunately, she's already used to people who are a foot and a half taller than her while standing up, so at least the height discrepancy doesn't bother her.]

...thanks. This...normally doesn't hit so hard.

[Except the time that she passed out at the Admiral's party and woke up the next day, but that doesn't count.]
