By now, every character should have at least heard about it, given the network announcement. As was promised, there will be food set up in the common area, as well as fireworks and a dunking booth. See the designated toplevels for locations, descriptions, and more! ]

[AKA: Pour out all that self-hate you've been weaponizing against yourself into the effigy instead.]

You're really only gonna use one sparkler?

That's the spirit!

[She opens up the clutch purse she'd been carrying around in case she needed to access her inventory and pulls out a set of sparklers and her knife, setting those on the table.]

Well, time to get started.

[She'll move the Madarame and Kaneshiro effigies out of the way... for now. Though she does pause as she's reaching for the Kamoshida effigy.]

... Say, Morgana, do you have anyone you dislike enough for one of these?

Well.....

[Morgana considers the question. There aren't actually many people he hates. Dislikes, sure, but he doesn't really hold personal grudges against the people whose hearts they change--and even if he did, those first three and Shido would've been the only ones who earned his ire. If there's anyone he despises who never got any comeuppance, though.....]

I guess there is one. You probably won't meet him, though.

[It's not like a male Haru would be engaged to that creep, right? Small mercies.....]

[She tries to think if there'd been any indication of who that might be off the top of her head, but she's not really sure...]

No? Who'd that be?

[meowna]

.....Imagine being forced into an arranged marriage with Kamoshida, and he's got the power to do whatever he wants with you for the rest of your life. All he has to worry about is not hurting you too badly to be fixed.

[Have a poofy, lashing tail, and his ears pressing back against his head.]

His name's Sugimura, and Haru's dad had them engaged to establish connections in the political world.

[... Leading with the "imagine" bit and going with Kamoshida might not have been the wisest idea, Morgana, considering that she freezes up and goes pale.

... It takes her more than just a couple of minutes to pull herself together, inhaling shakily.]

I... I see...

[ He's standing just several feet away, when he hears the, ah... colorful example being given. There's a cringe; it doesn't take long to see, based on Akana's expression, that really... wasn't the best imagery to be giving her.

Not to say he faults Morgana, at all? If anything, he's walking over to gently scratch his friend behind the ear, and then... eh. You know what? He's passing a Happy Pop to Akana, a small smile on his lips. ]

Sugimura is a scumbag among scumbags. [ a beat ] And further proof of how strong Haru is.

[ He's glancing towards the food. ]

I was on the way to get food. Want me to bring you guys anything?

[meowna]

[It's a little strange to hate Sugimura but not Kamoshida, isn't it? After all, Kamoshida had definitely preyed on multiple girls; they had no hard evidence if Sugimura had ever done so to anyone before. And yet..... for Kamoshida, they fixed it. He would never do anything like that again for the rest of his life. But for Sugimura.....

They hadn't fixed anything, only thwarted him--and they'd barely even managed that much. There was no Palace to raid, no Treasure to steal. There was no way to reform him from the inside out. And without the marriage going through, there was no evidence of any crime to convict him on, either. He was effectively untouchable. There was nothing they could do, if Sugimura decided to try and make some other girl's life a living hell. He hates feeling so..... helpless, before such cruelty and injustice he can do nothing about.

Still, just one look at Akira makes it immediately apparent he let his anger and disgust get the better of him--that the comparison, no matter how apt it is, is just too raw and hurtful. Morgana visibly wilts, tail and ears drooping, and moves to rub against her reassuringly. Sorry, Boykira, even pettings aren't gonna lift his mood at the moment.]

S-sorry.....

It's... It's okay. I at least get the picture.

[She accepts the Happy Pop and reaches over to pet Morgana as well.]

It just... took me a little off guard, that's all. [... She is indulging in that Happy Pop basically immediately. She kind of needs it after that, yipe. She turns to the male Akira, smiling sheepishly.] ... Maybe some of that sushi that Goro-kun brought?

[meowna]

I already ate.

[Why would he waste his time with effigies if he was still hungry? He knows what's really important, here. Still, he's leaning into their petting, significantly more subdued than before.]

[ He frowns gently, and then leans to gently rest his forehead against Morgana's. ]

Let's talk later, all right?

[ With a small nod to Akana, and then to Morgana, he gives a small smile. ]

I'll bring you some sushi, then. See you in a bit.

[ And, he's off! ]
