Catchalls are so hot right now
Who: Bai Lin and EVERYONE
What: Jogging, fighting, and FAST CARS
When: Will be listed in various prompts
Where: Around Keystone and the streets of Incendia
Warnings: Maybe a little bit of light violence?
-1: Every goddamn morning at like 6:30-
Lin is that most unholy type of creature: a morning person. If, for some reason, you're up at 6:30ish on any day of the week, you're likely to find Bai Lin jogging in loops around the various buildings that form Keystone Station, like some kind of goddamn health nut. She even looks like she's enjoying herself! Disgusting!
Or, also disgustingly early, she can sometimes be found in the woefully under equipped gym, pumping iron. Just because she's not fighting for her life every day anymore doesn't mean she can afford to get soft!
-2: Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday-
Fight Club, as it was unofficially called, occurred regularly on a field right by Keystone Station. At 10am, Lin taught anyone who wanted to be better able to defend themselves unarmed. She's a conservative teacher, though. Almost half of every lesson is devoted meditation and breathing exercises. She doesn't take any slack, though. Anyone who doesn't seem like they're taking her lessons seriously will get politely but firmly chastised, or even asked to leave for repeat offenders.
After a break for lunch, the more casual half of the club convenes in the same place for free sparring. If that's your cup of tea.
-3: The fast and bicurious (July 15)-
In a city full of clean magic powered cars, the roar of a gasoline engine is a bit unusual. And yet, that is what you hear today if you're out in Incendia today for exploring or a bit of light looting. You hear it first. Then a dirty black car drifts around the corner on squealing tires and at unsafe speeds before rocketing down the street past you.
A moment later, the car backs up to where you were and the window rolls down, revealing Lin at the wheel.
"I have NO idea what this is doing here but wanna go for a joyride?"

"I've learned quite a bit back home in Eorzea, but I'd love to see what I can learn here, too!" Her grin is bright and excited as she straightens up before her newest teacher, bouncing in place on her toes.

She planned to approach this differently, depending on just how much formal training Ruto had had.

"I just like picking up what I can here and there. It tends to make me more unpredictable." Here she offered a toothy grin, one fang gleaming brightly.
no subject
She rubbed her chin thoughtfully. "...Do you want to do a quick match so we can get a sense of how good we are? Just, like, to the first hit."

3.
[She rolls down the window and winks, revving the engine slightly in an unmistakable offer.]
[Are you in the mood to race, Lin?]
no subject
If we're gonna do this, your car's gotta stay on the ground.
no subject
Kinda can't, it doesn't do that anymore.
[Sorry not sorry.]
But I can set it to stay at an inch above the ground for the whole race, if that works?

She's in the process of scavenging through the remains of Current Affairs when Lin's car comes screaming around the corner. Erina hurries out to see what the fuck even just in time for her to scoot back and drop that line.
Erina's face lights the fuck up. ]
Holy shit. How fast can you make this thing go?
no subject
Speedometer goes up to 130mph.

[ And yet, she sounds so gleeful and she's scrabbling around to the other side of the car so she can get to piling into the passenger seat. ]
Does it fly, too? Tell me it flies.

He has trouble with the meditation, constantly clenching and unclenching his fingers or doing some kind of fidget as he tries to stay still. The breathing exercises come easier to him.
His unarmed fighting is rough and self-taught, but deliberate. His footwork is good, his unarmed strikes less so.
Someone learned from breaking up tavern brawls.

Which is why she approached him after class one day.
"Heya Alex. Doing okay?"
no subject
"...well enough," he says. "It's just difficult to center. The mystical traditions give me trouble, and always have."

Or maybe nobody's caught his eye just yet, in which case he spends the time going through kata on his own. He does have to adjust to having his real body back, after all. His motions are frequently accompanied by fire shrouding his limbs and blades or flowing off his body in waves, always stopping short of actually burning anything.
Or...wait, is there sometimes two of him? That's sure a thing.]
slams this down first since still logged in as him
Even when it's just him, he does take some time to practice moves - backflips, front flips, etc... He's not going to make use of magic, when there's no target, but it should be clear he's far from inexperienced in fighting. The speed is inhuman, he's not remotely tired...
There's a blink when he's suddenly approached, though he doesn't hesitate to nod. ]
Sure... [ h e s i t a t i o n ] ... As long as you're okay with no fire.
no subject
[He taps the hilt of one of his swords with confidence.]
Your speed is impressive...I wonder, do you have strength to match?

and now for the other guy
(Not... just because he's not a morning person, either; it's partially because the earlier part of his day is spent tending to the small zoo in his room.)
Anyway, Akira's seen a lot of things, but fire covering a person, with them looking calm about it? Not one of those things, unless he were to count something on TV or in the movies, maybe (even in most of those cases, it wasn't with them being calm).
In any case, have some clapping during one of the pauses! ]
That's officially one of the coolest things I've seen.
no subject
Well then, I imagine you'll be particularly impressed if you ever see me go all out.

[Around one particular loop, Pidonus happens to be taking her walk.]
Just. Surprised anyone's up this early. Er, anyone who needs sleep I mean.
