DUNGEON LOG: KEYSTONE SHORE

The morning of the 9th, everyone will get a message sent to their communication devices -

Okay, guys! I think we have enough stabilizers to try and get the shoreline stable. If you want to help out, grab your supplies and come on up to the roof!

When characters arrive at the roof, they'll find Top - with a wheeling table full of many copies of the same odd-looking device - the two exploratory drones, and a ramp down off the roof to the ground. (The latter looks a little hastily constructed.)

"Okay," Top says, picking up one of the devices. "Here's the stabilizers. Stick them to walls and stuff - mostly out of the way places where they're not going to get knocked off - and then press the buttons along the side."

They demonstrate, unfolding the set of legs at one end of the device before showing the buttons to anyone who's close enough. "Go ahead and take a couple, especially if you've got one of those space-saving inventories going on, I know there's like four of you with those? Strange got some first aid kits together, too, if you want."

Sure enough, another table nearby has the med kits... As well as traditional paper bag lunches, courtesy of Bottom. Don't question it too much.

"We'll be staying back here to keep track of the stabilization progress and work the drones," Top says, "but don't hesitate to call if you get in trouble! We'll send one of these guys down to get you an evac if you need it."

And with that, you're free to go down the ramp... Or to make for the beach however else you might choose to go.

Thanks.

[She takes a seat at the corner, folding her legs under her so that her boots are still resting in the gravel beyond the edge of the blanket. Not that there's as much to track onto the fabric here as there is on the sandier beach on the other side of the peninsula, but there's no harm in taking a little care with someone else's camp site.]

That'd be real kind. Nothing sweetened with fructose, though.

Do you have any specifics beyond that? I create drinks based on mental images, so it can be just about anything...so long as I have something of an idea of what it's like.

[She blinks at him, then chuckles, shaking her head.] ...I don't even know why I'm still surprised when someone around here has an unlikely-seeming ability. That's a useful one, though.

Coffee, then? I'm still trying to figure out if troll and human coffee is fundamentally different, or if the stuff that's washed up through the rifts is just not very good.
foolishjustice: (Strange isn't it?)

I haven't tried any of it yet, so I wouldn't know. I'm rather spoiled to a particular blend, so I make all of mine with this power.

How do you take your coffee?

Black, thanks. [It's not how she always takes, it, but often enough that she's got a taste for it, and it seems like the best way to judge if there's a difference between human coffee and the troll equivalent she knows.]
foolishjustice: (It's a pleasure to meet you.)

[He nods and sets down his hot chocolate. A second later, with no display or any sign he's grabbing it from somewhere, a cup of coffee appears in his hand. It's very high quality, blended by someone who knew what they were doing and hand brewed with skill...or at least, it tastes exactly like a cup that was hand brewed.]

This is the house blend from my favorite cafe.

[She accepts the cup with a nod of thanks, and takes a careful sip - careful of the heat, careful of her impressions. After a moment, she nods, eyebrows rising from behind the rims of her glasses.] That's very good. Not quite the same flavors as I would expect, but very good.

[He's kept the heat relatively low, not quite hot enough to burn a human.]

There is a reason that cafe is my favorite. I'm quite picky with my coffee, and I have yet to find anything as good as theirs.

Ah, yes. The curse of high standards. [She smiles, cradling the cup between her hands.] Handy that you can replicate it, then.
