Who: Shido & Open!
What: Lion.

Warnings: None this time!

[At some point, while you are traveling from point A to point B, you may see something unusual.

A fully grown lion that is just standing there and doesn't really seem to know how to lion. Or how to function, at all. It might look at you and blink for a moment before it looks away again, mostly down at the ground and its feet as if it is trying very hard to figure out how it's supposed to make locomotion.

Or maybe it's just given up on that and is lying on the ground, basically being a lump on a log. The most it moves, aside from breathing, may be the slight flick of a tail or just a slight head movement as it looks at you, and then away again. The only thing that really seems to be notable about the lion, aside from it being a lion, is that there is a scar on the underside of its torso where some of the mane is missing.

Either way, it doesn't seem very aggressive? Or particularly friendly. It kind of just is.]

[He barrels right past Morgana's hiding spot, the only hint he gets being a black blur in the corner of his eye. As such, he keeps running... but stops after awhile, ears perked, nose sniffing and head turning as he tries to figure out which way his quarry went.]

[Heh! Worked like a charm! Soon enough, Morgana is sneakily following Shido at a distance. By the time he stops running to look around, it doesn't take long for Morgana to get into position atop a nearby bookshelf. He positions himself, aims..... and jumps, latching onto the back of Shido's mane as he lands on his prey.]

Nyahahahahaha! Do I win yet?

[He jumps a bit when he's landed on, and he turns his head, not quite able to see the cat beyond his thick mane. He certainly can hear him, however, and he gives a frustrated grunt, giving a buck.]

When I get my hands on you—!

[Paws, Shido, you have paws.]

And what're you gonna do without any thumbs, huh?

[Just listen to that laughter, he's loving this. He's got a good grip on Shido's mane, he's braced and prepared for the ride, and he's taking the attempts to throw him off like a boss.]

[He gives what sounds like a small roar as he bucks around some more, though... it's not particularly powerful. If anything, he seems a little reluctant to do even that much?]

Is that seriously all you've got? I thought lions were supposed to be the kings of the jungle! I'll be here all day at this rate!

[Have a playful little bite at your ear, Shido.]

[The roar he gives this time is a little louder, and if that's the way Morgana's going to be? Well...

He's actually going to drop to the ground and try to roll to get him off. Think fast—!]

Not bad!

[Oh, he can immediately tell that's not going to end up well for him. He can hang on tight and ride out the bucking, but lions are hundreds of pounds heavier than he is. Morgana jumps ship as soon as Shido flops to the ground, landing a few feet away.

He's not done yet, though! Morgana crouches and butt wiggles as he squares up with his opponent, before pouncing at Shido while he's on his back. Raaaaaawr~!]

[Shido doesn't quite recover fast enough before Morgana attacks him, and with another little roar he twists his body in order to get up and shake him off.]

Woah--!

[Good plan, Shido. Morgana only barely keeps his grip this time--by dangling upside down from the part of your mane covering your chest once you're upright. Well, this is a little precarious.....]

[He can't quite see Morgana at this angle, but he can certainly hear and feel him, and so...

He lies down on the ground. Carefully, so as not to crush Morgana, but enough to pin him firmly underneath his body.]

Oof--hey!

[listen to how muffled that complaining is, buried under Shido's mane. He's definitely firmly pinned, but that doesn't keep Morgana from squirming what little he can in protest--even if the only parts of him that stick out past Shido's mane are his toes and the tips of his ears.]

[He gives a rather self-satisfied grunt and raises his head up smugly.]

Going to admit defeat, Morgana?

[Have another, futile attempt at wiggling free; soon, Morgana just groans in defeat. There's no way a little 8 pound kitty is escaping from this pin.]

Fiiiiiiiiine, you got me.....

[If lions can grin, then what Shido is doing is certainly grinning. He gets up and off Morgana, giving a pleased flick of his tail.]

Not bad for a first time.

That was just beginner's luck.....

[Have a vigorous shake as Morgana gets back up, licking his shoulder and smoothing down the fur to salvage some dignity. Still, the protest is more a token show of resistance for Shido to enjoy than anything else--if he'd really not wanted to be caught, after all, he wouldn't have gone after Shido literally two more times after he lost his pursuit initially.]

.....You did good, though.

[He reclines back on his haunches.]

I'm not even that tired. I suppose all that training I've been doing has finally paid off.

I guess so! Not bad if you stick with it, huh?

Part of it might be the body, too. Lions are supposed to chase things down, after all.

This form is quite formidable. I can feel the strength of it... if I could learn to harness that strength...

Maybe you should practice with it the way you practice with your human body? You've probably got lion instincts in there somewhere.

... I suppose I could. There might be some here who would be willing to grapple with this form and not be in any danger from it.

Oh, probably. I bet that Alastor guy could take it and feel right at home.

[They haven't really talked, but he remembers the way the guy smelled of predator.]

Perhaps he would. I'll have to ask him.

[And, finally, smoke appears as Shido returns to his human form.]

... of course, there's the matter of being able to control my transformations in the first place.

That I'm not so sure about..... my changes have always been voluntary. As long as you can do it when you want to, maybe practicing going back and forth enough can help you keep from doing it when you don't want to?

[Just gonna keep lounging on the floor while human, Shido?]

[look, give him a second to let the disorientation settle, at least...]

... admittedly, I haven't quite figured out how to do that, yet.
