kitchen
[ It's a nice sunny morning in the Keystone Station and someone has set the god damn kitchen on fire again.
It seems like it happens quite suddenly, going by the shriek of surprise that comes from the kitchen. A plume of jet black smoke comes streaming out from the door just before the fire alarm wails and the kitchen sprinklers kick in. It's a total mess, is what I'm saying.
If you're a brave enough soul to investigate, you'll find that it's not one of the usual suspects in there β it's Yuuri, coughing and scowling and sopping wet, scraping the scorched remains of what looks like a fried breakfast into the trash so she can try and salvage this pan. Goodness.
A little later, she makes her way to the laundry room, attached to the other kitchen. It's the opposite end of the station she usually frequents but the one in her normal kitchen still smells like smoke, which is... sort of her own fault. But on the topic of stinking of smoke, that's Yuuri right now. She's sat there against the wall, scrolling through the network on her phone while her clothes rumble away in the washer. She smells like a bonfire, honestly. What's going on here? ]
library
[ Silence is golden and the golden rule of libraries, which is why Yuuri's being nice and polite and quiet while she goes through the books today. It does look like she's trying to track down something in particular, going by the growing pile on the desk behind her, so if you're a kind soul you might want to give her a hand.
Or, if you stick around long enough, you might just see the book she's paused to flick through burst into flames in her hand for no apparent reason. Rather reasonably, Yuuri's response is to yelp in shock and toss the flaming book right onto the ground. It takes a few stomps to put it out, but once she's reasonably sure it's not going to set alight again, Yuuri takes a few steps back from the bookshelf, clutching both hands to her desk. ]
Just... just what's going on today?!
around the station
[ the usual wildcard prompt. this is mostly just here for SET ME ON FIRE, BRO purposes, really. ]

Kitchen
[Lin bursts in frantically reading the instructions card on a fire extinguisher that she absolutely does not know how to use.]
Okay. Pull pin, point at base of fire, squeeze handle-
Look out!
[And then Yuuri's breakfast, and Yuuri herself, are sprayed with fire extinguisher stuff.]
no subject
The good news is that the fire is out, but now Yuuri is sopping wet, caked in fire extinguisher emissions and she can't see a damn thing.
Cough, choke, etc. Just give her a minute, she can't even see you to yell at you, Lin. ]
no subject
[Lin did not swear very often, but realizing that the person she just blasted with a fire extinguisher wasn't actually on fire felt like a good enough reason.]

She leaves her book in her seat, and hurries over to the now gently smoldering scene of the incident.] What on earth were you studying?

[ Yuuri's a wee bit flustered, as you might imagine. She's eyeing the book like it might just burst into flames all over again. ]
It was just magic. I was just trying to find something about Fissure magic, andβ
[ She gestures helplessly at the ex-book. ]

She moves to put herself between Yuuri and the burned book, and, carefully, lays a hand lightly on the girl's shoulder. It's meant as a comforting gesture; she's ready to back off if Yuuri startles much at the contact.] Not to worry, you've put it out. You're not hurt, are you?

It could be worse. [ which is to say, no, everything is not alright. ] I'm not in the way, am I? I'll be out of your hair soon enough if I am.

Hey-[cough]-hey, who went and ruined breakfast? It wasn't me this time, I promise.

Ah, Yuuri. [What's up girl, it's your dear friend Hea-- oh god what is he wearing.] Having a good day, I hope?

Kitchen :^)
[Currently, Talon is doubled over and having a coughing fit in the hallway. He just wanted to get his damn clothes from the dryer, but instead he rounded the corner of the door frame just in time to get blasted in the face with hot smoke. This wouldn't be a problem if he was wearing all his gear and his mask, but as is he's just wearing a sleeveless croptop (and a half binder underneath) with a pattern of wide, staring eyes sewn into it, and a pair of blue jeans.]
[The memories flood in, of heat and screaming, of the smell of burning and the pain - god the pain.]
[His breathing quickens, which only exaggerates the coughing, and his binder makes things ten times worse. And then there's the matter of him stumbling through the door into the kitchen, still basically dying but also wild-eyed and clearly ready to haul anyone injured out the door.]
Jesus- [hacking cough] FUCK what was that?!
no subject
I'm so sorry! I justβ
[ And then, with pitch-perfect timing, the sprinklers kick in. This would probably have been pretty useful if there was actually a fire but right now it's just making everything sopping wet and even more miserable than before. Good morning, Talon! ]
Library
[Undyne looks over from the manga section to see actual flames in the library, and as enthusiastic as she is about danger even she knows that's a bad idea, and she reflexively summons a small ball of water magic in case the fire spreads. Fortunately, it doesn't appear to be necessary.]
Were you practicing fire magic indoors???
[Jeez, Yuuri, she thought you seemed like one of the sensible ones.]
Kitchen
Karamatsu had been exploring the station a bit that morning after getting settled in his new room with Choromatsu when the strong stench of smoke tips him off to something being wrong. He follows it until he reaches the kitchen, coming up on it just as a bunch of smoke comes billowing into the hall.
He steps inside without thinking, jumping nearly out of his skin when the ice cold water from the sprinklers showers him and immediately sticks his wings together and to his back. But he ignores that in favor of Yuuri herself who seems to be the one who made this all happen, intentional or not.]
Miss- Are you alright, do you need any help?
[Says the fucking. Bug man who suddenly appeared nbd]
no subject
She doesn't look up from the smoking remains of her breakfast right away β she's doing her best to scrape it into the bin and evidently not having much luck with it. ]
I'm so sorry, I'll be out of the way inβ
[ And then she actually glances up, sets eyes on the huge bug man in the doorway and promptly whips around and... points the frying pan at him. This is fine. ]
