So In Love With Two
Who: Coriander Bliss and you!
What: Cori misses her datemates, but at least she can dedicate a few songs to them for this holiday.
When: Valentine's Day
Where: The kitchen and common room
Warnings: This is basically a bunch of song lyrics, ahaha
Kitchen
[Cori is making pancakes today, humming slightly as she pours out the batter. Her hand slips a bit, forming what looks sort of like a heart shape. Looking at it, she sighs. As she continues pouring out pancakes, now with a few more heart shapes, she starts humming a tune. After a bit more, she starts softly singing some lyrics:]
Three – infinite new possibilities
Three – doesn't it seem like there's no end to what we can be when
Every touch our grace is multiplied
Every kiss our souls are opened wide
Every moment is precious and sanctified
And our time is filling like cups of honey wine
Sweeter the water, the deeper the well
Life is spilling out all over
We're spilling out over ourselves
Common Room
[After the softer song she was singing in the kitchen, it seems Cori is determined to do something more energetic. It's Valentine's day, after all! So anyone poking their head in might see her doing things such as:
Dancing around a pair of chairs she's shoved together and pointing at a pair of invisible people apparently sitting in them while singing:]
She's a girl with spells that can bust out of chains
Says what she means she don't play no games
But you what you're missin' in magic you make up for in brains
Between you two I got my two hands full
I got one to push and another one to pull
Two that I want
[Sitting in a chair, her arms over two invisible people as she holds an invisible phone to her ear and sings:]
I spend all my time on the telephone line
Tryin' to say it just right this time
Something that could change your mind
I know this is love and the feeling fair
Though I whisper somethin so sincere
Exactly what you want to hear
Honest I do, I can't see you and me and her without each other
And I hope you feel the same way too
[Turning around in the center of the room, looking like she's waltzing with two people at once while she sings a chorus:]
Oh the old world is turning around like a top
And there' s nothing you or I should even try to do to stop it
Ozzy & Harriet are spinning around in their graves
But who needs television these days, anyway?
Love defines it's boundaries
Limitless shapes, countless forms
I have vowed that when it comes to me I'll take it
Every manifestation, I'm gonna celebrate it

She looks up from spreading blue grubspread on toast when the human girl's humming resolves into actual singing, although she waits until Cori finishes the verse before speaking.]
Missing someone?
no subject
...yeah. Viktoria and Kenta. My...girlfriend, and boyfriend. [Well, it's not like she's the only person in a three-way relationship here.]
no subject
She nods, putting the lid back on the grubspread jar.]
I think not being able to get a message back home is harder than being stuck here in the first place. I imagine it's worse when you've got lovers waiting for you and not just friends.
no subject
Mm...sounds like any attempt to send a message would just be like throwing a bottle into the ocean. But...at least my family's still there. They'll look after Kenta and Viktoria for sure.
no subject
[She sighs. She's dropped off the grid and started over with little or no contact before, but only ever of her own volition, in her own time.
She's not certain exactly what "family" implies in a human context, but the broader implications of the situation are clear enough, anyway.]
I'm glad to hear they're safe, anyway.
no subject
Yeah... [She glances at her watch.] Even this doesn't work...and it used to be able to receive messages from another world. [She supposes it's an exclusive connection between these two worlds?]

Common Room
Hey- are we doing karaoke?
no subject
no subject
[His eyes are pretty focused on the thumb piano. It's such a curious object.]
Play something you like! Something popular, and fun!
no subject
And we're banned from Argo, everyone.
Banned from Argo, just for having a little fun.
We spent a jolly shore-leave there for just three days or four,
But Argo doesn't want us anymooooooore.
no subject
In spite of his unfamiliarity with the tune, he makes an attempt to sing along with parts of the chorus he manages to remember. He did want karaoke, after all.
Once the song finishes, he laughs lightly with the energy the activity stirred in him.]
You're pretty good at playing that thing, huh?
no subject
Yeah. Some of my abilities are musical, so I need an instrument that's easy to carry around. Although just my voice works in a pinch.
no subject
[His face lights up at the mention of her powers. He settles down into the nearest seat and drags it closer to her, and sits with his chin propped up on his hands.]
What kind of stuff can you do?
no subject
no subject
[He definitely sounds impressed by it.]
If we get into any scrapes I can count on you to liven it up a little! [And, you know, potentially save their hides.]
no subject
no subject
[Please, teach him music.]

no subject
[He likes the way you think, Cori.]

no subject
[He gives a bow.]
Pleasure to meet you, Cori.
no subject
no subject
[He thinks on how to explain it.]
Do you know of the concept of familiars?
no subject
[She nods at his question though.] Oh yeah! My branch of the family hasn't really used them, but I know what they are.
no subject
[He wonders if they're all like the one he's had dealings with...though Cori seems far more agreeable than them already, so he has doubts.]
I'm kind of like a familiar. There are seven classes to summon from: saber, archer, lancer, rider, assassin, caster, and beserker. [As he goes through their names in turn, he does a little pose befitting each: a sword swish for saber, pulling back a bow for archer, etc. For beserker, he claws at the air and growls.] Obviously, I was summoned as a Rider.
no subject
Oh...so how long is a summoning supposed to last? Do you need some way of maintaining yourself here?
no subject
[He frowns slightly. There it is: the question.]
We exist so long as we're supplied mana from our Masters, or until either we or our Master is killed. [He winces sheepishly.] I shouldn't be able to be here, technically speaking.
no subject
no subject
[He nervously fiddles with his plait, before giving up and throwing it back over his shoulder.]
My Master's not alive anymore, so any connection would have been severed.
no subject
no subject
[He sounds ever so slightly concerned, but springs back to brightness and optimism just as quickly as it came.]
No need to worry about that right now, clearly.
I think we can FTB here?
no subject
Ah, so that's why you looked so pleased when I mentioned having multiple boyfriends.

[Just going to grab a plate of his own and sneak one of those pancakes while she's looking at the pan. Huh, they're...awfully thin.]
no subject
[She smiles when she notices him take one of the pancakes.] Go on, I'm making enough for everyone. And hopefully a bit more than that.
no subject
[He chuckles a little, then turns his attention to his breakfast.]
Are pancakes always this thin where you're from?
no subject
Hm? Yeah, pretty much! Although I know French-style is even thinner...but these are easier to make in bulk. [Crepes are for fancy desserts.]
no subject
[Just going to...grab himself another pancake, then.]
Have you ever seen Japanese pancakes before?
