[4/28-5/1: Down by the beach]

[Goro has been noticeably scarce again since his post about Shido...but this time, it's not because he's sleeping. People who venture to the beach will easily find him in or near the water, wearing a pair of swim trunks and a dark blue shirt, perhaps a size too big and open in the front, with the sleeves cut off. He seems to be enjoying swimming, occasionally coming up onto the sand for something to drink, but not staying long enough to fully dry off.

The observant, or those particularly wondering why he's swimming in a shirt, might notice that his arms are dotted with scars from claws, blades, even an occasional splotchy burn mark.]

[5/2: Almost outside, but nope.]

[It seems Goro was planning to visit the beach again today, since he's wearing the swim trunks and shirt as he heads outside...but those plans immediately vanish when he opens the door. Those near the ground floor exit will get to see him take half a step through the open door, before stopping in his tracks when he actually feels the temperature outside...and proceeding to spin on his heel and march right back inside. Nope. Nope. He's going to go play some video games instead.]

[5/6: Common room, then outside]

[Once the weather levels out, it's time to get back to a bit more normalcy in his routine...and that includes dealing with some of the stuff he's found in Fissures (now dressed in white pants and a black T-shirt, unfortunately with his usual 'HERO' cap and associated jewelry, with the addition of a softly glowing, rainbow bracelet made of dragon eel scales). After bugging Izunia for the bulkiest part of it, he's set up a table and chairs in the common room, in view of the wall used as a projector screen. Next is a dart board, which he hangs on a wall, fifteen darts in three colors stuck into the board in a circle.

After he finishes adding his contributions to the common area, he heads outside...but not to the beach this time. People might have noticed a bright blue bicycle leaning against the outside of the station for the past week and change. Apparently it belongs to Goro, since he can be found riding it through the late afternoon. He's not going anywhere in particular, apparently just breaking it in for some exercise...but at least he's enjoying himself?]

I can imagine. While it was never directed towards myself, we have had... swarms of admirers storm the camp before back home. I swear the lot of them didn't leave until nearly dawn.

That sort of behavior does sound familiar. It...was a semi-regular occurrence for me to be chased across the city by overeager fans, back home.

That sounds exhausting... The worst thing about the incident I remember in particular is that not only were they keeping up the unfortunate victim of their affections, but the rest of us in the vicinity as well because they were trying to serenade the poor man. Hopefully you've been spared... that sort of behavior.

I've gone to lengths to make sure none of my admirers know where I live. Honestly, I'd worry that my apartment's lock isn't sufficient if they did...some of them trend toward the obsessed.

... That makes me very grateful for the fact that the Shepherds are never in one place for very long. We don't exactly get the privilege of having locks...

You'd think that being a detective with a strong enough association with a prosecutor that people have wondered at possible relations would deter them...honestly, when I get home, I'm seriously considering threatening restraining orders.

[He's really been too soft on them, in his fear of alienating what was, at the time, the only source of affection he had.]

[He makes a face, before pulling out a drink from his convoy and taking a sip.]

[Robin, you saw his behavior with Shido. You didn't already fear for his sanity?]

Mm. That was an interesting trick you pulled...trying to replicate Izunia-san's ability?

I suppose I was getting a touch envious of it. [He can't help but chuckle.] It's significantly more limited, though. I've experimented with it a bit and I can only fit fifteen items... Though, if I have multiples of the same thing, I can store those together with no problem.

Curiously enough, my sister actually begun manifesting the same ability, though, and our space seems to be linked to some extent. I've... had the misfortune of grabbing one of her stored belongings in an attempt to get something of mine out.

Hmm...that seems a little similar to my inventory in some ways, opposite in others. I haven't found a limit to the number of different types of items I can store, but there is a limit to the number of similar items, albeit a large one.

Have you tested if it's possible to de-link your inventories? I'm currently sharing mine with Akira, but I can think of reasons one might want to keep their inventory separate.

I've tried on my own after the aforementioned incident and was unsuccessful. I may try asking Wren to attempt at the same time, to see if that will do it, but I fear they may just be permanently linked.

I'm sure less accidents will come with practice using the ability, if nothing else...

[Which he already seems to be getting in fairly often, from the looks of it. He puts his drink away and leans back a bit.]

This sort of thing generally does get easier with practice. I've actually been doing a bit of research into inventory magic, myself. The biggest inconvenience of mine is that I need something I can at least imagine I'm storing the object in. You can imagine it gets a little inconvenient when I'm not carrying my bag.

That does sound incredibly inconvenient, yes. It'd be a pain if mine was just limited to whether or not I'm carrying the usual pouches on my belt with my other outfit.

... Or these pants in general, considering how many pockets I have here. Can't exactly fit my blades or my tome in those...

Fortunately, I don't have to take things out of the same container I put them into. I can put something into a pocket and then remove it from my bag, if I want. But it doesn't quite work when I'm not wearing something with pockets, and don't want to carry a bag around.

[He shifts in the water to gesture at his current outfit, which, aside from being soaking wet, has no pockets.

Ah, how convenient. Well, aside from the part where it doesn't quite work without anything to carry items in...

At least there's not a lot needed out here, hm?

True, but eventually we're going to have to stabilize the reef. I'm not sure I want to find out what happens if I open my inventory through a wet bag.

I've been doing some idle studying. Since it's just expanding an existing ability, it shouldn't be too difficult. I just need to re-train my cognition.

I know I've said it before, but these cognition-based powers seem incredibly useful...

You already have an inventory, so...the stealth and parkour are probably what you'd find most useful.

The art of using agility to get past obstacles. Things like jumping wide gaps, or climbing by kicking off of footholds rather than pulling yourself up. It tends to be faster than ordinary climbing or going around things. Not to mention more fun.

Oh! I'm already somewhat inclined towards stuff like that, though I'm not quite... that good at it yet. [Thanks, Acrobat skill.] I definitely wouldn't be opposed to learning more.

Nor would I be opposed to learning about stealth tricks.
