[The good doctor is less absorbed by books and more focused on patients these days. She's put out the call for others to show up so that she can practice her new skill, as well as update Strange's charts. It makes her a little nervous, still. What if it doesn't work on someone? What if she discovers some anomaly she's not prepared for? What if nobody shows up anyway?]

[Angela puts those thoughts aside as she hears someone enter.]

Greetings. Here for a scan, or is something else troubling you?

O-Oh, I see. That is...highly abnormal. Is it causing you any pain?

[Angela inspects the rock briefly before she begins the scan. She simply puts a hand over Marla's shoulder, about an inch away, and takes a cleansing breath to focus. Aside from the healed fractures, presumably from the aforementioned bone disease, her health is good and Angela finds nothing of note to complain about. Other than, you know, the rock.]

[And even if the space rock IS causing pain, she suspects the regenerative abilities it supposedly grants probably repair any nerve damage it might be causing. Which, good, perhaps it should stay if it is ultimately improving her health.]

[But she has to offer.]

I could look into potential removal procedures if you'd like.

Nah, me and the rock have figured out a peaceful coexistence.

[ She shrugs. ]

It doesn't really hurt? Like, I can kinda feel it if people touch it, but that's just like having a giant fingernail on my torso. Except I was specifically told not to let it break, so there's that.

Then I am pleased to report that you are in good health, except for the disease you mentioned and a plethora of healed fractures.

[She eyes the rock curiously.]

Do you know what effect it has on you, aside from the regeneration, or why they implanted it in the first place?

So apparently I got drafted into some sort of weird interdimensional space war, except the aliens who wanted us to fight with them were these sentient rock women who all had names based on what type of rock they were? At least, I remember a girl named Peridot. And then we also had a Garnet and... Amethyst? And then Jasper. I'm assuming there are others, but I kind of fo- wait. Pearl.

But there were totally others.

They had all sorts of weird advanced alien tech stuff, but because they were all rock-based they kind of all had to work with their rocks, and... I guess that's why they stuck the rock in?

Different rocks have different powers. But they had like, bodies and shit so they could walk and talk, it's just that if you got too fucked up in the body you'd go all poof and go back into your gem until you could respawn, but you could shapeshift your body into whatever the fuck you wanted.

[ She demonstrates this by elongating her arms until they get so noodly they reach the floor, then retracting them back to normal length. ]

Except I can't hold that forever. After a few hours I'm just gonna go back to whatever I decided was my default body? But if you get poofed, you can regenerate back into whatever kind of body you want and it'll stick.

I uh, kind of abused this once.

I was a lot shorter in my natural body, so when I found this out I decided to throw myself down the stairs.

[Angela pinches the bridge of her nose as she absorbs this absurd information and realizes she's got another patient who disregards personal safety in favor of stupid things, like being taller.]

[After a moment, she sighs in resignation and puts on a tired but polite smile.]

And your rock's power, is it combat based or liable to be dangerous to others?

...only when I go out of my way for it to be.

[ So, not really. At least not passively. ]

Then I politely request you avoid usage of that power in any capacity against the others at the station.

[Her tone is brisk, a bit like a stern motherly warning, but not necessarily unkind. Then, as an after thought:]

Within fissures, I do recommend limiting its use so as not to expose it to the malleable nature of the ambient magic, but if you must use it to defend yourself I can understand doing so.
