and the hope of morning
Who: Izunia and you! And a kitty. (First prompt closed to Ardyn)
What: TWIN FIGHT TWIN FIGHT and general catchall. And a kitty.
When: Twinfight: Morning of Tues the 1st. Everything else, whenever whenever after that.
Where: The beach; around the Station
Warnings: All the hecking warnings on the twinfight.
Closed to Ardyn
[It takes some time to find his brother; as a result, people might see Izunia doing the "think murder and walk" thing for a half an hour or so around the Station before he concludes that Ardyn isn't there and heads elsewhere. Those with a careful eye will notice more than just his stance being different; he's clean-shaven and decked out in full black coat and boots, including a black tricorn hat with an impressive plume and a bird skull of some sort attached to it. If the growing heat of the mid-to-late morning bothers him, it's hard to tell.
Those who are more used to the casually-dressed, laid-back man usually seen around the Station could well be surprised to see this side of him. Today, the Founder King walks.
And so it is eventually out of the Station that he roams, and there spots the figure down on the beach from the cliffside. A thrown dagger hits the sand, leaving behind it the blue trail of a very long warp, and Izunia plucks it from the sand before crossing the last few yards to his brother.]
Ardyn. If you have some time, might I have a word?
[menacing]
May 2-4, aka the Heat Wave, around the Station
[Come the heat wave itself, however, Izunia is dressed at least a little more practically for the weather, though still in teeshirts and black pants. He can be found in all his usual places - the low-numbers kitchen, the deck, and the library - during the day, as well as sitting in the Annex underlevel on a blanket to enjoy the breeze in the cooler underground cavern. He's not completely immune to heat, only mostly.
Those who hang around the outside of the station at night, when things have cooled off a little more, will find him either on the deck still or out on the sand behind the stables, working with some sort of light magic as he turns it into different colors from his usual blue, and, eventually, into the shapes of letters and simple symbols. It seems like he's having quite a bit of fun, at least.]
Also May 2-4, also around the Station but more common room/kitchens/his room
[What's that sound? What's that flash in the corner of your eye?
It's a cat - the size of a full grown feline already, though her proportions mark her as not yet an adult - with a dark blue collar and a ringing bell.
And she is having the zoomies around the residential floor after escaping her dad's room. Nyoom, off she goes!
Or perhaps you're sitting in the kitchens or the common room when she finally wears herself out a bit, and you've been approached for Pettings, Please. Or perhaps you have food. Or perhaps your shoelaces have just become her new toy in place of randomly zooming around.
However it is you encounter this fluffy little monster, you can be sure that Izunia is not too far behind, led by the sound of her bell.]
May 5th, Night
[Once the heat wave breaks, it's finally time to make use of one of the Station's new features. With all the windows open to the breeze and the sound of the storm, Izunia is sprawled out in the hot tub in a pair of black trunks and nothing else. The way his head is tipped back, it's easy to mistake him for asleep, but the sound of someone else arriving makes him glance in the direction of the door. It's still fairly easy to tell him apart from Ardyn, though, if you know what to look for - blue eyes, still clean-shaven, and a black tattoo on his chest, the majority of it blurred by the bubbling water except for the two crows flying highest in the direction of his neck.]

Evening.

[Also, the hippogriff, but we don't talk about that.]
no subject
It's good they came across her.
[He's quiet a moment, as he pets the kitteh. Because he wants to ask something, of course, but also he promised to try to leave things alone. Which is proving very difficult right now.
Which is why he's glad the cat is here to at least sort of distract him.]
no subject
Indeed apparently they were getting animals for some time prior to us. One of the androids has a pet - possum, I think it's called? Creature about the size of a cat, anyway.
no subject
Ah. I'm familiar with possums, yes. So that would be another animal they don't have in your world, then?
no subject
Indeed. Speaking of which, I do have that sketch for you.
[He Remembers even he was very, very tired.]
no subject
...You actually made that?
[Because yes, Heart absolutely figured Izunia would forget and, also, just not even bother anyway.]
no subject
...It being Heart, this is quite probably the most endearing pos course of action. She fite!!]
...Of course?
[He pulls a stiff leather folder from his Armiger, opens it to page through for a moment, then offers Heart the sheet in question for the hand that isn't Attacked by Catte.]
no subject
I sort of figured you weren't serious. Or would've forgotten. [He takes the sheet, giving it a good look. Huh.] ...How big, exactly, do these get?
no subject
There is, in fact, a to-scale scribble of what seems to be Noctis off to one side.]
Oh, quite large - eight to twelve feet at the shoulder or so, depending on the individual?
no subject
...Are they very aggressive?
[.......Heart, no.]
no subject
Very much so, yes. Nigh-impossible to tame even enough to get them to tolerate human company.
no subject
The wildlife on Earth is far less exciting. Certainly where I live, at least. A shame, really.
no subject
[Kitty adjusts her grip on Heart's hand. Pay attention! Wrassle her!]
no subject
[Has there been anything he can fight because dear god, he has to fight something.]
...Other than your very ferocious cat.
[Don't worry, kitty, he'll wrassle. He can multitask!]
no subject
[He kneels down to get a better look at kitty wrassle.]
She is trying very hard.
no subject
[Man, where's a Kamen Rider when you need one? One of those would be fun.]
Oh, she's very fierce. Who knows how much longer I can withstand such an assault?
no subject
[He says it so deadpan you would think him actually serious. At least, if you weren't used to the Lucis Caelum sense of humor.]
There's a patch of sand on the cliffs outside the station that we tend to congregate on at the moment. There's often someone there, though perhaps not in this heat, considering how many find it intolerable.
[His tone says nothing, but his expression says 'fucking wimps.']
no subject
[For once, their senses of humor actually work together.]
That's good to know, then. Although I can hardly see why the heat should be stopping anyone. It's not so bad, is it? [...Heart, you're a robot and one with some heat-based powers at that, that's super unfair.] And they'll hardly build up a tolerance to it like this.
no subject
[Verity meanwhile has lessened her assault in favor of just gently nomming on Heart's hand with, admittedly, still the occasional back foot kick.]
It's really not. I imagine it will get quite a bit warmer over the next few weeks, since summer is only barely beginning. And yet half the station is acting as though it's a sign of the end times.
[Absolutely foolish, of course, any member of the Lucian line knows that the endtimes come with increasingly long nights.]
no subject
[Which he knows from experience. What, too dark? Maybe too dark. Who cares, really.]
How inconvenient it must be, to be bound by the whims of the weather that way. I'm very grateful I don't worry about things like that. Not doing things because it's too hot... I can't even imagine.
If anything, I just get more fired up.
no subject
[Because good lord calm this man down.]
no subject
no subject
I don't know why I'm surprised. It suits you.
no subject
I suppose I should be glad it's just home and not actively taken away this time.
[And shoved into a gacha.]
