The Great Snow Fight of 2019
Who: Everyone
What: People pack snow into little balls and throw them at each other
When: January 30st and probably on and off for a couple of days after
Where: The grounds outside Keystone
Warnings: The weather outside is frightful
There's...not always a lot to do around Keystone Station. Sure there's books and video games and movies but for someone like Lin, who gets antsy when she's cooped up inside for too long, that only holds her attention for so long.
And then it started snowing.
There's only one thing to do about that.
-1-
It was quiet out. Maybe...TOO quiet.
All of the sudden, snowballs started flying out of the gloom, often from strange directions (like directly overhead.). It was followed by the sound of Lin's laughter. Someone's trying to start some shit.
Sure, she COULD have just invited everyone outside and told them, but this seemed more fun.
-2-
After a while, word got around and more people started getting into the spirit of it. Now it's not hunt and ambush so much as just a ton of people in a big confusing melee. Forts have been built. Tenuous alliances have been made. Factions are betraying each other at the drop of a hat, and everything is chaos.
Truly, war is hell.
-3-
This is the prompt for people who have had enough snow fighting for now and are huddled together in the kitchen, where a big ol' pot full of spiced cider is gently simmering on the stovetop making the room nice and warm and also making it smell amazing.
[OOC: Prompt 1 is obviously more focused on Lin specifically, but feel free to use the other 2 for general mingling!

[Nyx cries out in surprise, gasping and sputtering at the spill of absolutely horrific cold down the back of his neck, in his hood and down the back of his hoodie. He’s so busy yelping at the cold that he’s too startled and surprised by Regis’ fall to even attempt to catch him or get out of the way. In the end they both end up on their asses in the snow drift.
Another cloud of powder explodes around him and Nyx lets out a bark of laughter, immediately rolling to try to pin Regis down and stuff more snow down his shirt in retaliation.]

Normally this would be about the time another person would try to pull their assailant's hands away, but Regis just finds himself dropping his head back into the snow and laughing. He's always run warm thanks to to his affinity with fire magic and it doesn't hurt he was already warming the air around him slightly with said magic. By the time Nyx gets that snow anywhere near him, it's all but melted.
The slightly chilled water dripping against his skin does tickle though. A small consolation present perhaps?
Regis is just slightly breathless from the laughing when he finally speaks.]
Are you actually going to get any of the cold stuff through to me or shall I just take a nap?
no subject
[That's fine, that's just fine. Because Regis is so skilled with fire magic but Nyx is skilled with another type. So Regis is breathless and laughing and instead of going a step further and super freezing a snowball like Regis might be expecting Nyx takes a different approach. There's a spark of magic, a familiar pull, and then a bright warm tingling jolt dancing from fingertips to warmed skin. The current is gentle but high enough to be startling and a touch sharp, arcing from droplet to droplet across his belly.]

[Instead of ending normally, Regis' sentence cuts off with a surprised sound that shifts into a soft groan when he feels the sparks jump across his skin. His eyes eyes close for a moment, half opening again as his hand finds Nyx's arm, fingers rubbing up and down it lightly.]
You are bound and determined to get us into trouble, aren't you Wild One?
no subject
Me? Trouble?
no subject
[There's a breathlessness in Regis' voice now that has nothing to do with laughter. The muscles in his stomach shift, reacting both to touch and spark even as one of his hands finally settles itself at the back of Nyx's neck, pulling the Glaive down toward him gently.]
You may want to see if there is anyone looking because whether or not they are, I am about to kiss you.
no subject
Who cares if they are?
[His lips catch Regis' in a firm kiss, humming against his mouth. A playful nip at his lip and then, with only the slightest shift in his position, Nyx does two things simultaneously.
Draws Regis' lower lip between his teeth to suck at it, hot and eager. And pulls power into his hand to send a burst of cold over Regis' belly this time, not quite freezing the droplets of water left behind on his skin but chilling them just shy of it.]
Show you trouble.
no subject
Oh, but he doesn't leave it at that. After all, Regis has already done that trick once. Just enough heat to melt follows the snow, and the resulting cold water runs all the way down Nyx's back and soaks into his clothes.]
Show me what again?
no subject
He kneels there, shocked and furious, soaking wet and breath huffing out in horrified pants.
Then, abruptly, he slams one hand into the snow beside Regis' head, shoveling a pile of it into his face and then warping backwards away from him.]
Oh, now it's on!!
no subject
Oh? It's only on now? And here I thought it was already on. Perhaps, I shouldn't have been trying so hard.
[Regis takes a moment to shake snow from his gloved hand, but the gesture is far less innocent that it seems because in among that snow, he summons and flips a chuck of ice, not at Nyx, but at the tree he is not standing far from.
If he doesn't notice that little projectile and move, a certain Glaive is about to get a lot wetter thanks to the tree's snow-burdened branches.]
