April 4-8, Roof

One advantage of the constant rain is the cheer it brings to Rinn. So almost every day of the rainshower, Nathaniel can be found on the roof, holding an umbrella while the Ludicolo dances in the rain, cavorting and capering. There's a small smile on his face, although he'll look somewhat embarrassed at anyone else showing up.

"Ah...I hope we aren't in your way."

April 6, Farm

Nathaniel has been careful not to bring Kate near this area any more, so most of the time Macy accompanies him. Today they're also being followed by a chicken that keeps pecking at her, so she keeps trying to float out of reach. Nathaniel has found a spot for him to sit down and lean back to just watch them, chuckling just the slightest bit.

"I don't think she's too dangerous to you, Macy."

April 8, Cliffs

Nathaniel has his arms crossed as he looks down at Belle, surrounded by a bunch of bottle crabs. Finally, he sighs.

"Alright, I suppose we can bring one back to the station with us. You can keep coming back out here to visit them, too."

[riderofcharlemagne]

[The presence of rain as Astolfo comes out onto the roof was almost enough to deter him back inside (he's gotten plenty soggy here already and working out driers is a hassle), but catching the sight of the strange dancing creature draws his interest.

Astolfo bounces up beside the creature, almost completely ignoring Nathaniel.]

You've got some moves, huh? [He starts to attempt to mirror the dance it's performing, though he's clumsy and out of time.] Like this?

[Also, Rinn's rounder than him, and that probably affects how he does his moves. Still, he squawks a happy "Co!" at seeing Astolfo join, and even reaches out one mittened hand in an attempt to lead. Nathaniel doesn't mind being ignored, really, happy to watch both of them try to dance together for now.]

[Astolfo takes that lovely mittened hand in his and tries to keep up and follow along, now tethered to the Ludicolo.

Over his shoulder, he calls out to Nathaniel, laughing joyously.]

Why don’t you join in?

[He shakes his head, glancing over at the walking stick he's leaning on now.] ...I don't dance.

[Astolfo carries on moving to the little guy's rhythm. He's getting a bit more in time.]

Then there's no hard feelings for me being his dance partner?

[No jealousy, only dance.]

Certainly not. I'm just glad he's found someone willing to dance alongside him.

[He giggles.]

Why wouldn't anyone want to?

[stormkingofshepherds]

Not everyone is fond of dancing in the rain, after all. [He points up at the clouds, somewhat unnecessarily.]

It's just water, it's invigorating!

[They're cowards.]

Well, it can get uncomfortable after a while when your clothes get stuck to you... [He's been out in the rain to herd his sheep a few times before. He knows about that stuff.]

[He blinks, and cats a look at his now very soggy cape.]

I hadn't thought of that.

[stormkingofshepherds]

[A soft sigh.] Do you have a change of clothes in the Station? It would be bad to catch a cold after you were enjoying yourself so much.

I have an outfit I snagged from the box that one time. That's kind of it though.

[He probably ought to wash it too...]

...well. At least it's something. You should change after you get out of that rain.

[Ah, this soul.

She smiles winningly.]

What an unusual animal companion you have there.

[He glances over at her.] I did talk about them on the network the day all those newcomers arrived. The short of it is, he's a Pokemon, and they're not unusual where I come from.

I see. I was one of those newcomers, but...I don't think I saw the conversation. Do tell me more, if you wish to.

Well, most Pokemon look greatly different from each other-what I've heard from others here suggests they'd all be considered completely different species of animal by others. Most people in my home world have at least one as a companion, whether or not they actually fight alongside them.
