In the dead of the night...

Who: Minako and Akana
What: Control fails and a Persona rages
When: Very late night after the CAH game
Where: The beach
Warnings: Probably talk of the stuff that went on during the CAH game

[Ever since what happened earlier, Minako has been trying to settle down. It felt like things had eventually calmed, that her Personas had quietened (something she was thankful for, given the headache they'd given her earlier), and she could think about what had happened and what her feelings on it were.

Being up late was nothing to her, not after being used to the full moon missions. So she sits on the beach by herself, watching the water and thinking about what had happened.

Then the headache hits and she yelps in alarm, hands going to her head and doubling over. No, no, she can't...she can't let this happen!

The others. She has to call one of them. But not one of those who were there tonight....they'd been through too much already, and she's. Unsure. Where she stands with them. No, there's only one person she trusts enough to help with this. And that's why the female Akira will be getting a message, Minako's voice panicked on the line]

Akira-chan? A-Are you there?

[For the female Akira, it's been a relatively peaceful night. Time spent with Margulis before departing for a little meditation.

Well, that's not gonna last long when she gets the message. She scrambles for it, and then pales when she hears Minako's tone.]

Minako-chan?! What's wrong?!

I n-need help. I can't...one of my Personas, I can't control it!

[Her head pounds, Thanatos raging and trying to free himself. She has to hold him back...!]

I'm sorry but please...I don't want him to hurt anyone!

[Briefly, she thinks back to what she heard about things that happened in Incendia, about what happened when a Persona went out of control. Though it won't be visible to Minako, her expression shifts from alarmed to grave.]

I'll be right there--where are you?

Thank you. D-down at the beach.

[There's true relief in her voice, and trust. She knows Akira will help, and maybe if they can just wear the Persona down, Thanatos will calm...]

[The beach, huh... from Akira's spot on the roof, that really won't take much time at all. She rises from her sitting position, shifting to her Heron Laguz form. She takes a leap from the rooftop to fly down to the beach, transforming back into a human upon landing. And from there, it doesn't take her long to find Minako at all.]

Minako-chan!

[Minako hears her name and looks up, the panic still on her face but also managing a relieved smile] Akira-chan--

[Then her face goes blank for a second as Thanatos roars and the sound carries over into reality as the black Persona tears itself free of her, high in the air over the two. Minako whimpers and shudders, swaying alarmingly]

No, no, Thanatos stop...!

[As the roar echoes in the night air, Akira stands firm. She doesn't know if her Personas are any match for Thanatos, but she can't let that shake her. Minako's trusting her to help!]

Minako-chan, it's okay. You said we can't let him hurt anyone, right? Perhaps letting him work out a little aggression like this will help.

[As she speaks, her mask shimmers into existence across her face. Arsene Modifié would probably have the best chance anyway...]

I...m-maybe...

[She won't lie, the idea terrifies Minako. But Thanatos looks down as the mask appears and roars at Akira, lifting his sword and floating down a little closer to the ground. Maybe it would help him calm down...]

I can't control him, but...I can stop him using some of his skills. I think. Don't want him...using those on you. Don't use darkness.

[If ever there was a time when she regretting fusing Thanatos with two of the instant kill skills, it was now]

As long as he's not throwing around Bless--or uh, light, I guess, I think we'll be fine.

[Arsene has Evade Bless but tripled evasion isn't perfect evasion. Just as quickly as it appeared, the mask turns back into blue flame, coalescing into Arsene, whose wings flare out immediately. He regards Thanatos for a moment before floating a bit closer to the ground himself, twirling his cane.]

Okay. I'll make sure he doesn't. He's darkness, mostly. He'll reflect it.

[That's all Minako can manage to get out before Thanatos roars again, lunging forwards with Vicious Strike, his blade striking out and seeking to connect with the other Persona]

Ngh--!

[Well, it connects, alright, and Akira finds herself pushed back a little from it. Arsene, however, is quick to retaliate with Thanatos right there--he twirls the cane one last time and when he stops, he's holding it much like one might hold a sword. He swings mightily with Brave Blade.]

[Minako winces. Whether it's from over-confidence or the Persona's blind rage, it's hard to tell, but Thanatos doesn't even try to dodge the skill. He snarls and retaliates, Tempest Slash aiming to hit hard, and hit twice]

[Arsene at least attempts to dodge, though he's not exactly successful. Still, at least he doesn't quite take the brunt of the blows... It's not stopping Akira's hand from diving into her pocket to grab a Life Stone just in case, but she doesn't use it yet. Not when Arsene's winding up for another Brave Blade.]

[Thanatos, this time, does bring his sword around to try and block the blow, which doesn't stop him taking the damage. He pushes back on the blade lock and strikes out again with Vicious Strike.

Minako can't help but notice little things, given she's not really involved in this fight aside from making sure Thanatos doesn't use some of his skills. The fact that his blade turns to use the flat for his strike skill...and that it honestly looks like the two Persona are sword-fighting more than actual fighting]

[Arsene uses his cane to block the attack before retaliating--one might be forgiven for thinking Arsene is something of a one-trick pony here when it comes to Brave Blade, but Akira's not too inclined to use an attack that can potentially inflict a status effect.

She's a little too affected by how the fight's going to really notice how the fight actually looks...]

[Thanatos manages to dodge the blow partially, and roars as he tries...something. But that something is enough to make Minako freeze and lift her head, staring at the Persona. Thanatos struggles with seemingly nothing for a moment, before looking at Minako and growling]

No. You're not using that.

[Thanatos seemingly doesn't want to not though, and chooses to roar at Minako because of it. It does leave him open though...]

[... Rather than taking that opening, Arsene backs off for a moment. The attacks have been a drain on Akira's HP and she... she needs a moment. And also that Life Stone she's been gripping.

And maybe a brief bit to catch her breath as she uses it.]

[Minako notices that Akira seems a bit out of breath, and tries harder to control her Persona. Thanatos growls low, but does actually land on the ground]

It's okay, Thanatos...see? No danger here. You're lashing out at those who don't mean us harm.

[She tries to sound confident, and it...sort of works. Thanatos doesn't attack again, turning to look at Akira and Arsene. He rumbles a growl at them, seeming to judge them as he watches. But he doesn't attack again. Not yet]

[Arsene lowers his cane, but otherwise stays put. He just tilts his head, almost as if asking Thanatos "are you quite finished?"]

Did... did that do it?

[Thanatos seems to takes offence to that look and roars at Arsene.

The roar apparently comes with a bonus Megidola]

Thanatos!

[It's not really aimed to hit at least...?]

[Well, at least it's not aimed to hit. As it stands, Arsene just watches the Almighty spell sail by in complete silence.

Before letting out a hearty laugh once it can no longer be seen.]

... What a pair these two make.

[Thanatos lets out a rumble, but quietens.

Minako has to laugh herself, relief visible as she approaches her Persona] They really do. If I didn't know better, I'd swear you were a Fool arcana, Thanatos.

[Thanatos just looks at her. Excuse you, he is Death and you will respect him!!]

[Akira lets out a giggle herself, walking a bit closer and her hands sliding into her pockets.]

He might be a bit too spooky for it, but I think I could see it otherwise.

[Arsene snorts.]

[Thanatos just grumbles. Humans.

Minako smiles, lifting a hand to rest on his arm. It's clear now that he's calmed down that Thanatos is important to her] Maybe a little. He almost suits the holiday. Halloween Persona.

Almost, yeah! ... I have to say, he's pretty awesome.

[She can't help but openly admire Thanatos a little. Not only does he look cool, but he's so strong, too...]

[Minako has to smile fondly at that, nodding agreement] He is. He's the highest tier Persona of the Death arcana, for me. Sometimes I kind of see him as my protector.

[Thanatos stops grumbling and tilts his head at Minako. She nods at him. She knows. He's not the Death that was Pharos. But they share a form, and she can't help it]

Ah, that so? That's kind of incredible.

[She tilts her head to one side a little, Arsene mimicking the motion.]

I suppose he's taken to the role, all things considered.

[What with that comment about "those who don't mean us harm" and all.]

Mm. I'm glad. He's one of my strongest Persona, so long as the enemy isn't using light.

[She smiles, then rubs her neck. She hadn't realised how tired she was from the attacks Thanatos used] I should heal...ah, will you be bothered if I do?

[Minako. Honestly doesn't remember if Akira knows how her Personas are summoned yet. H m m]

Huh? Why would I be bother-- Oh. You use an Evoker, don't you?

[She rubs the back of her neck.]

I'll be okay as long as I'm not looking while you, ah... y'know.

[Said as she mimes the action with her hand.]

[A nod] Yeah. I honestly don't know how you guys summon your Persona the way you do. It seems so much easier.

[She smiles sheepishly, resting a hand on her Evoker, the gun ever at her waist. She hesitates for a moment before drawing it, running a hand over the cool metal]

Alright. I'll remember that too, in case it comes up in the future.

It wasn't so easy the first time, to be honest. Do you want to hear that story sometime?

[It's... not the easiest thing to talk about, especially considering the entire situation... but it feels a little easier to tell Minako.]

Even just a warning you're gonna do it will be enough, at least.

If it's not too much to, then sure. I'd like to hear about it.

[Minako nods, making a mental note of it. Thanatos fades away finally as she shifts her active Persona]

Maybe I can learn how to summon without an Evoker, while I'm here. But here I go. [She'll wait a moment to ensure that Akira is alright before lifting the gun and pulling the trigger, the familiar feeling of mental glass breaking as Titania appears and casts a Divine Grace boosted Mediarama, that will also hit Akira since she's nearby]

I'm at least in a way better place to talk about that sort of thing than I used to be, so I wouldn't mind telling you.

[She averts and closes her eyes at the warning, only letting them open again when she feels the Mediarama. It's pleasant, especially since that Life Stone didn't heal all the damage from the attacks Arsene had taken or used to fuel his own.]

It's certainly possible, I think. With all the things it's possible to learn to do...
