[ It’s common to see newcomers out and about around the station, once the hustle and bustle of a mission well done settles down. After all, there’s a new home -- temporary as it may be -- to settle into and a new lifestyle to get adjusted to. And so, bright and early one morning, Kurumi and Yuuri set off around the station, to get the former acquainted with her new place of abode.

They make a bit of an odd pair, with Kurumi in her wheelchair and school uniform and Yuuri pushing her along. But even though Kurumi’s a new arrival to the station, the ease and familiarity of her and Yuuri’s talk is that of long-time friends. And while Yuuri doesn’t have any particular overwhelming fondness for Keystone Station, she finds that she likes it a little better when she’s showing Kurumi around. It’s nice to be able to show her that, for now at least, she really is safe.

The main station building doesn’t take much of their time, though this is mostly because Yuuri herself spends so little time here. You might catch them stopping off in the common area for a break or hanging out at the viewing deck and taking in the view. For the most part though, you’ll find the two of them exploring the Keystone Annex. They stop off at the greenhouse, of course but also the AV Room (look, Kurumi, all the video games you could ever want).

It’s late in the afternoon, by the time they’re done and by then, both of them are dragging a little. But they’ve both still got some things they want to do before the day ends, so if you want to track them down, it won’t be too hard. ]


Medical Bay (Kurumi)

[It might be a little odd, after all that, to see Kurumi just by herself in the medical bay. But there really is only so much Yuuri can do on this end, and so Kurumi manages to reassure her that she'll be fine under the care of the medical staff for an afternoon. She's adopted a shawl of some sort over the top of her school uniform to help keep her warm, but those who look carefully might notice that the weird lumpy spot on her upper arm is uncovered underneath. There's also a shovel hanging from the back of her chair.

Especially because, after talking with the android for a while... Kurumi just falls asleep right there in her wheelchair, a blanket most of the way over her shoulders and a pillow supporting her head against one of the push handles. Oops?

Alternately, later in the evening you may find her, very carefully and with the support of a medical cot next to her or her shovel, levering herself out of the chair and working her way back and forth. Her expression is strained but determined. She won't let this beat her. She can't.

Those who come by looking for Strange might note that the android is deeply intent on a centrifuge in their preferred personal corner.]

Library (Yuuri)

[ Yuuri's proven herself to be quite the regular at the library over the last few weeks, especially now everything's been organized. She's nearly always looking one thing or another up even without that bee she got in her bonnet about researching flowers. It’s reasonable to assume she’s back on that track. But the books she’s seeking out aren’t her usual fare – they’re all medical textbooks and geography, travel and history books about Japan. Which is weird when you remember she lives there and presumably doesn’t need them.

But she’s engrossed, with a little frown on her face as she pages through them and if she sees someone she recognizes pop into the library, she’ll pipe up-- ]

Oh, just a second -- do you mind if I ask you something?

Library

[Rantaro doesn't frequent the library that often. He doesn't avoid it entirely, but something about the shelves stacked with books of varying weights put a sense of dread in the back of his mind.

But he wasn't gonna let something like that stop him, so every now and then he went in to talk to whoever's there. Sort of.

Kind of conventient when he finds a girl engrossed in travel books and medical textbooks... Is that girl Kurumi's friend? He can't be sure, but he still wants to help her out a little. Being nearly 6 feet tall, he decides the least he could do is grab a travel guide off a top shelf and offer it to her.

He looks a little sheepish as he holds it out for her- not in the way or anything, just where she might see it. Hopefully she won't get mad at him?]

[serrata]

[ She's a little too engrossed in her work to realize there's someone trying to get her attention at first, used to the comings and goings of the library as she is. But then she catches on that this other person here is a stranger and she glances up and realizes – oh, that's another one of the travel books, isn't it? ]

Oh– thank you! I thought I'd tracked them all down, but it looks like I missed one.

[ She takes the book from him and gives him a smile in return. ]

You just arrived in the last Fissure, right?

[Hey, he's not in a rush. Really, he was gonna nudge her shoulder if she didn't notice him for too long but... Well, she noticed.

He nods in reply to her question before he brings up a hologram from the smart watch... That sure is the word processing app being displayed there, and he sure is typing on it.]

Yes and no, I suppose.

[ She flips through the travel guide he'd passed her, just to satisfy herself that it's got what she's looking for then shuts it again, making the page with her finger. ]

I was doing a little research into some of the differences between the books here – I'm from Japan, but the Japan some of these books talk about is a little different from the one I grew up in.

Yuuri - Library

[Prompto stops going wherever he was going and swings his arms, looking puzzled and curious.]

Well, I was just wondering – all these books fell through the Fissures just like we did, from all different kinds of worlds. I was just wondering – have you ever found anything here that's actually from your world? Or even if it's not exactly the place you came from, something close enough?

[Sunny, who is probably getting a little too big to be indoors by now, kwehs a soft (this is a library!) greeting from behind him. She's from his world! Probably.]

[serrata]

[ A perfect bird. Yuuri has just met you and already, she loves you. ]

Here in the library. Books or magazines or – well, anything like that.

[Bear-san totters into the room first, with Mai holding his leash even if it's currently detached from him. She nods a greeting to the two as her bear starts to vacuum the floor.]

Yuuri. And Kurumi. ...Games?

Maybe not right now - Rii-san's just showing me around.

If we got her started on games then we'd be here all afternoon.

[ it's true and she's gonna say it ]

I was just wondering... have you ever found any books from Eos in here? Or worlds like Eos, maybe. They don't have to be exact.

...hm. You know, I've not actually looked. Why, something you're after?

[serrata]

Mmm. Kind of. It's...

[ There a pause, where she looks around, as if to make sure there's no one eavesdropping (but really, who'd be getting up to that in the library) and leans in a little, lowering her voice. ]

I was hoping I'd be able to find something about... what happened in my world, maybe. For Kurumi. I thought, if there's however many worlds or histories out there, then there has to be one where things got fixed. Right?

[ The way she says this makes it clear that isn't quite what she's found. ]

[The library is where Brain headed soon after getting settled; it's natural he'd want to experience knowledge, and the idea of a collection of works from multiple worlds is too excellent to pass up. Of course, he's also digitizing them to add to his own fount of material, his eyes glowing green as he rapidly flips through page after page out of a pile of books, scanning their text into his memory banks. It's while he's doing this that Yuuri approaches him.] ... Ah, yes, can I help you miss...?

[serrata]

[ If she's noticed the green glow, she doesn't comment on it – day to day life around Keystone Station makes you somewhat immune to that. That and she seems a bit laser-targeted to whatever's on her mind. ]

I was just wondering if– [ and then her brain catches up with her and she realizes, wait a minute– ] Oh, you're one of the new arrivals, aren't you? You got here with the last Fissure, I mean.

[splendidandhonest]

That's right. [Brain nods.] Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Brain, and I'm an associate of Heart's. And you are?

[serrata]

You're one of Heart's friends?

[ And with that, she's thoroughly distracted from her mission, because this is much more important. ]

Then it's wonderful to meet you. I'm Wakasa Yuuri and... well, it's a very long story, but the short version is that Heart's a very dear friend of mine, too.

[Akira's definitely a library regular herself, usually with a wide variety of books on multiple subjects. She pauses with her own books at Yuuri's question.]

I was just wondering... we're from the same part of Japan, aren't we? Around the same neighbourhood, I mean. Yongen-Jaya.

[ Which still sounds incredibly surreal to Yuuri, who'd grown up in a Tokyo that had a Sangen-Jaya district, instead. ]

I was just wondering... have you ever found any references to it in any of the books here?

To tell you the truth, I haven't been looking... Though, I can't exactly recall seeing anything about it outside of stuff from home.

Library

[ This is around the time Rebecca's looking for a good cookbook. Has to visit the library sometime, as uncomfortable as she is being here.

Why is it these two meet again, in a situation like this? ]

Uh... Sure, what is it?

[serrata]

Well, I don't mean to pry, but... you said you'd had experiences like this before. Being taken to worlds that aren't your own, I mean.

[ That is, technically, what happened to Rebecca in the same way that Yuuri's experience was technically an extended intergalactic vacation. ]

I was just wondering if you'd ever had a chance to look up information about places you know, but in different worlds? Their versions of the towns and cities and countries you know, that sort of thing.
