Who: Rebecca, Viral, Yoosung, Rantaro, Mishima--Lockdown CRAU party, basically, but anyone can wander in
What: It's a birthday party for a Beastman, y'all. FEEL FREE TO USE AS A MINGLE!
When: BACKDATED to October 18th
Where: Keystone Rise kitchen, Keystone Annex Roof
Warnings: None, probably? Bound to be some murdergame refugee musings somewhere in here.
[ To have to relive the month of October again is a little much for Rebecca to bare. By now, she thinks the whole thing should be wiped off the calendar, just September to November--it wouldn't change anything but it'd make her feel better, wouldn't it?
At least, it would have, as the only irrational alternative, if she hadn't found something else to keep herself busy with. And busy she's been, since learning from Yoosung about Viral's "birthday." (She's pretty positive he gave it to himself, back in Fayflower, but it counts, all the same.)
So...well, everyone seems to whatever they need here, so Rebecca claims both the kitchen and the annex roof early as she can. ]
Kitchen
[ ...and then gets to work on something kind of monstrous. There's...so much meat? Ground beef, stuffed into cake-pans, and breadcrumbs. It's clear Rebecca's working on something she's not familiar with, but...well, this is what the last week and a half has been for, trying to perfect a recipe.
You're free to find her during this prep, as she's reading over a cookbook from the library (less said about that venture the better) or shaping frostin- no, excuse me, it's mashed potatoes, resembling frosting. ]
Annex Roof
[ And...well, here we are. While busy in the kitchen, the ones Rebecca's enlisted for this little party (shoutout Lockdown boys) have gotten the lounge area ready. ...The good thing is, when you're throwing a party for someone who's very much a go-with-the-flow guy, there's not much prep to do, beyond getting up some varying quality banners, and making sure no one else claims the room for themselves. Really, this is less of a party than it is a get-together, but there's attempts made. Party hats, Rebecca, really? Yes. Party hats. Because why not.
So, at around mid-afternoon, after setting down the freaking meat cake, all that's left is to get the man of the hour. Rebecca will do that herself, dragging him (...or attempting to) if necessary, not exactly saying just why he has to come with her, nor explaining why they're headed somewhere she usually wouldn't be caught, uh...well, a place she normally avoids.
There's nothing stopping anyone from joining in, or wandering about and asking what's going on. No bouncers at this party, so everyone's welcome...
...yes, even, if you want to party-crash a certain clown. ]

He won't miss the party either. Yes, he's wearing a party hat. He's trying to get in the mood as everyone mingles around the strange meat cake. At least it's good meat cake, he thinks to himself as he catches up with everyone else in spite of his speech issues... Hope Viral isn't too weirded out by them.
When he's not interacting with people, though, he can be found sitting near the glass walls and gazing at the sea... Damn, it's been way too long since he got a clear view of the horizon. No cages or shadowy disease obscuring the view, nothing that seems fake or foreboding... And the ocean's in plain sight.
Whatever this place is, it sure beats Fayflower and Monokuma's games.]

It's the first time she's been over here, and the sight of the banner... It shouldn't, but it almost makes her laugh. ]
You know, technically only a few of us could be counted in that.

He sort of chuckles himself when she brings that up, so here he is turning on the hologram on his watch.]
I thought this was supposed to be a private event!

Wow... I wonder if there's a nice beach over there.

You've done...just what I asked you to and more. [ Here, have some lunch. Sandwiches, on the house. ] Hopefully, he'll appreciate what we've thrown together, with the...limited resources.

Crossing his arms, he feigns giving him a once-over, while making little attempt to hide his amusement. ]

the birthday boy himself
Linear time is a human construct, etc.
So it's with a bit of confusion that he lets Rebecca herd him into the lounge - she's fortunately caught him before a hunting trip and not after, else there could very well be 'an entire deer' involved in the festivities.
Before Fayflower, he'd only ever been to one human event that could be called anything like a party, and he'd wallflowered the entire time, lurking against a tree at the back as Simon and Nia exchanged vows. As a result, preeeeeetty much nothing could have prepared him for this.]
This - what - Rebecca - ?
[Someone please help him.
And after he's adjusted a little to the whole idea... Well, he's still a bit of a wallflower, but he's actually gotten a (slightly oversized) fork to eat the meat cake with. There's even a paper crown (decorated with drills, because of course it is) gamely perched on his head.
Once again, humans surprise him by continuing to be not so bad at all.]

Yoosung told me, on that...calendar- this is the day you'd marked as your birthday. From what you said about...Beastmen, how your kind lives, I assumed you'd never really had something like a party before, so...
[ It's...silly. It feels silly explaining it. But it feels important, too. ]

Such a shame it is, then, when suddenly- out of nowhere there's a shower of confetti, right in Viral's face, and a dreadfully familiar voice.]

[ Mishima straightens his own party hat, which is slipping off a little, but then grins proudly. Maybe the guild didn't end up being too much more than a party planning committee, but they're committed to these parties!! ]
We'd actually been planning to do something back in the simulation, but then we ended up here and the days were all weird again. [ He only just missed yet another repeat of his own birthday... ] But we didn't miss it!

E- excuse me? Well... Yes, you could say that.
clown crashing
Still, he stalls his arrival, luring everyone into a false sense of security. Every party needs a good surprise after all.
After a while, suddenly, there's an explosion of confetti.
Then, further away, another one.
Gogol's contribution to this party is primarily teleporting himself around and throwing confetti, often directly over the guests, until he either exhausts himself or Rebecca chases him out with a broom. Whichever comes first.]

She tries not to look extremely horrified when she cuts herself a slice and sees what's inside the cake but she can't really help it. ]
Is... is this really a cake? It smells like beef stew...
[ But it's terribly rude to waste food, so she... does her best to eat her slice, even if she's not sure what sort of emotion eating a meat cake inspires in her. It's a new experience! That's what she keeps telling herself, anyway. Once the big beefy boy has been consumed, she sets about to exploring this whole party business as a whole. Hard as it is to believe, party hats aren't a thing in Adelheld and so she's thoroughly delighted by the novelty. Catch her gleefully popping one of those bad boys on and grinning like a little kid who's just seen Santa.
Once she's all explored out though, she decides she's crashed this party long enough without knowing, and chooses a likely looking fellow partygoer to sidle up to and ask quietly; ]
Um, excuse me... it's probably a little rude of me to ask, but is this a party for somebody? Whose is it?

Yeah, it's his birthday! Viral. [He gestures subtly Viral-ward.] He's sort of like an alien, so we're walking him through all of the concepts of a birthday party.
