[She says as she grabs a knife, placing it on a cutting board and carefully chopping both ends off, holding it up to show the rings before cutting it in half lengthwise and offering one half to Goro.] The best way to start out is to cut so that it forms actual rings, or half-rings in this case. [She peels off the skin, along with the outermost layer, as well.] You can keep the outermost layer if you want, but it's often somewhat tougher than the rest.
