Mix and match [Open]
Who: Sync and you
What: A little bit of exploring, and a nasty case of static
When: No specific date, just after the IC log. Within a week or two of it at most.
Where: Couple of places in Keystone Station, one at fight club
Warnings: None right now
Fight club
[Sync doesn't actively participate in the fight club the first time he goes. Given it's his first time seeing it run, he's content to hang back and watch everyone else, learning how it's run. There's only a few people he'd be willing to openly approach at the moment, after all.
That doesn't mean that he's not up for a spar though. He's already well balanced as he watches, standing easily. He's also up for talking]
Farm chambers
[If there's one thing that Sync honestly never got the chance to see, it's how people actually go about getting food. Daath wasn't exactly big on farming, after all, and travelling a lot on missions didn't really help when he wasn't in the city.
So when he finds the gardens, he takes a moment to just stop and explore a little, looking over all the various foods being grown]
How many different types of vegetables does a person need? [It's said more in faint confusion than scorn, because seriously. He's never seen so much of this stuff in his life]
Kitchens (any of them)
[There was one set of plants that Sync noticed while in the gardens, and on getting hungry, he wanders to whichever kitchen is closest at the time to find something to eat. He'll generally set about making himself something simple (he's no chef) but...
Is that a pepper he's snacking on while he's doing so?
It very much is. And he'll continue to do so, because they're tasty. There's a couple of different kinds on the plate that he's pulled together, some of which aren't that spicy. But if anyone's looked at those peppers or had experience with them, there's definitely a large number of the more nuclear type. And he's kind of favouring them, like it's no big thing. No water or anything nearby either. Yeah.
This is normal...?]
Anywhere - static part 1
[It's a few days after getting back to the station that Sync...doesn't so much as discover but is made aware of the fact that the whole Fissures giving you abilities thing is apparently working on him. Because literally everything he touches, from a handrail on the stairs to the buttons on the elevator to whichever poor person brushes against him as they pass, is getting zapped.
Static electricity is a pain.
All it's doing is also serving to irritate him, which is not helping him out any. If anything, it's making the static worse, and he's also creating small electric sparks that are hanging around attached to him. At least, until something convenient passes within a close enough range for them to jump to]
Common room - static part 2
[Eventually he just settles in the common room of the station and rubs his face, wincing again as the static zaps him once more for it] I hate this place.
[Don't mind him, he's just going to sit here and try to collect all this damn lightning that's sticking to him and continuing to show up because he's annoyed at not collecting it. It's a spiral Sync is doing poorly at realising exists]

kitchens
Oh, that's where they went.
[Apparently, he was looking for those.]
no subject
There's still some left, if you want them.
[He'll be disappointed, but it's not like he has a claim on them or anything. Aside from the one he's currently eating, which he takes another bite out of]
no subject
[Maybe the androids will plant more spicy pepper plants now.]
no subject
[He wouldn't say no to spicer foods. Food tastes better the spicier it is]
no subject
[He's going to abandon the fridge and instead start setting up to chop some of the vegetables he got from Incendia at the counter instead.]
But the rest are cowards. Have you tried the Dr. Jalapeno yet?
no subject
Heh. You've got a point on the fragile, I guess.
I haven't tried that, whatever it is, no.
no subject
[Straightforward question, as he works on a series of what Sync will recognize as sweeter bell peppers and tomatoes.]

You pull the larger part of the metal tab on the top forward to open it. Do not shake it.

Common room
As she passed by him, however, his static cling problem just kind of faded away for a few seconds.]
no subject
Hey, wait up a second.
no subject
[She stops and steps back.]
What's up?
no subject
I'm not sure, but you just made the static that's been clinging to me all day stop. Have you got some kinda nullifying ability?
no subject
no subject
[Sync isn't sure he's okay with that]

no subject
I'd heard about the abilities. Guess it was foolish of me to hope it'd leave me alone.

Kitchens because good lord, Sync
Staaaares at the kid just casually eating ghost peppers like he's Chairman Kaga.
And smiles at him, all sly.]
Right; you're at the top of my list for trying Anna's ma-po tofu or my attempts at red curries.
Sure you don't need any milk with that?
:3
If it's spicy things you're talking, I'll take it. Things taste better the spicier they are.
[Casually taking another bite out of that pepper at the question, polite enough to wait until his mouth isn't full to speak again] Nah. Never really did understand why people needed water with spicy things, they don't bother me. Though why milk?
no subject
One of the major ingredients for mapo tofu is crushed chili oil, so while it's not blow-off-your-head, it heats up and stays there. Anna's... call her a sister insisted that it made you sweat and was therefore perfect for hot summer days.
no subject
That sounds like something that I'd like. Things always seem to taste better when they're spicier. So if you need someone to try something, I can do that.
no subject
Everyone back home sort of... built up an immunity, I want to say? At least enough for them to appreciate the siracha and Tabasco we always had way too much of.
no subject
[A slight tease, maybe? He will look forward to it anyway though. Sync does approve of his spicy food]
I've seen some people learn to adjust that way. It's always seemed odd to me, since I've never noticed whatever it is that makes people freak out when they eat something too spicy.
no subject
And I try not to make anything anyone will regret. People need to eat. I don't mess with people's food supply. Never.
[For all she takes the joke as it was intended, she can't help being serious about this.]
no subject
[The serious answer surprises him, but he nods after a moment. He can appreciate someone with that kind of mentality]
Fair enough. Probably good here, thinking on it. It doesn't seem like food is too hard to come by, but it's not plentiful either.
