DUNGEON LOG: KEYSTONE SHORE

The morning of the 9th, everyone will get a message sent to their communication devices -

Okay, guys! I think we have enough stabilizers to try and get the shoreline stable. If you want to help out, grab your supplies and come on up to the roof!

When characters arrive at the roof, they'll find Top - with a wheeling table full of many copies of the same odd-looking device - the two exploratory drones, and a ramp down off the roof to the ground. (The latter looks a little hastily constructed.)

"Okay," Top says, picking up one of the devices. "Here's the stabilizers. Stick them to walls and stuff - mostly out of the way places where they're not going to get knocked off - and then press the buttons along the side."

They demonstrate, unfolding the set of legs at one end of the device before showing the buttons to anyone who's close enough. "Go ahead and take a couple, especially if you've got one of those space-saving inventories going on, I know there's like four of you with those? Strange got some first aid kits together, too, if you want."

Sure enough, another table nearby has the med kits... As well as traditional paper bag lunches, courtesy of Bottom. Don't question it too much.

"We'll be staying back here to keep track of the stabilization progress and work the drones," Top says, "but don't hesitate to call if you get in trouble! We'll send one of these guys down to get you an evac if you need it."

And with that, you're free to go down the ramp... Or to make for the beach however else you might choose to go.

[Kurama might not be a Persona user yet but he's been in enough fights with Goro and Akira that he knows how this goes. His eyes flick to Goro when the bird staggers, just in time to see that blatant flourish.

He'll cover your dramatic call to attack, darling.]

[Yeah, Wren's actually really pissed now. There's sand in her mouth and hair, and she's more than ready to see this stupid creature die already. She puts away her Brave Lance and draws Gungnir in its stead.

Its power flows through her body, increasing her strength to superhuman levels, and she flies up a short ways. Just barely registering Kurama's call to arms, she joins the attack by divebombing the gull, seeking to run the damned thing right through.]

[Robin would be right there along with his sister, provided he had a flying mount, but he doesn't, so he's just gonna have to attack from the ground.

(Once he recovers a little from the sudden blast of sand in his face, at least. Gods damn it all, it's like fighting in Plegia all over again!)

His hands grip Balmung's hilt tighter as he backs up a bit before charging again--this time with the intent to stab rather than slash.]

[So, teamwork isn't usually Alastor's thing...but he's not about to say no to a dramatic finisher. A second sword appears in his free hand and he launches himself into a spinning dive, essentially turning himself into a flying blender.

[Chances are that no one even heard that over their induced deafness, Izunia.

Still, there's a faint flicker of light as he releases from the cliff wall he's hanging off of - Prompto or Noctis would recognize it as a weapon switch - and then his rapier is in hand again.

Rather than trying to warp in this time, though, Izunia tosses the weapon from one hand to the other - leaving an arc of blue light afterimages hanging in the air in front of him, identical to the thin blade. And then he lets them loose, six thin blades of light coming down on the gull's wings like particularly flashy nails.

I hope we get to see a bit more of this world than the beach. It'd be a bit disappointing otherwise.

[As Goro charges in, followed by several others, Pidonus realizes her song's not working for everyone - the sheer noise Astolfo used was screwing up her song! That left plan B...

... Namely, energy starting to crackle between her fingers as she charged in, using multiple Aetherically-charged strikes to empower a rapid series of strikes with... Well, if anyone looked, it'd look like her hands almost, but more like claws forming over them.]

Ahh, a busybody, huh? That's a fun role in any friend group. That's what it looks like, anyway. I mean, I've never been, I'm always the one that gets sighed over exasperatedly instead.

[Stone gives Goro a mildly skeptical look. Death god? Seriously? It's not Goro in particular, just gods in general, that he tends not to take seriously.]

Well. That's worse than where I got kidnapped to, the first time. At least nobody tried to change me into anything else.

[Stone grins, all teeth, and once Prompto has fired his second round, he leaps into the air and dives for the bird, claws extended. He'll take whatever part of the bird he can reach.]

Stone pushes sand back into place around the device, pats it down, then shifts back into the form that can talk, dusting sand off his hands. "There. I hope it works. Otherwise it's a waste of a machine."

Of course they are, I already ate two. I just didn't think you could. Humans usually cook their food first, and doesn't that take a while?

[The other reason he didn't think Izunia had been eating sand sharks.]

It's okay, Stone doesn't have an inventory trick, either. Or, well, he has something like it... but it requires shapeshifting, and his other form doesn't fit in a lot of places, so it's not very useful. "Maybe lightning is an element, too." Stone has no idea. He gives the crystals a wary look, then gives them a wide berth, approaching Kurama instead.

He's used to babies and impulsive Arbora interrupting, it's okay. "The predator was a big flightless bird. It was as tall as...." He looks around, then points at a hole in the cliffside. "As that cave, there, with a sharp beak. It thought Moon would make a good snack, and the villagers did magic on him so that he couldn't change forms, so he was stuck looking like you and me-- no claws, no wings, no fangs, and the villagers didn't leave him any weapons, of course. He would have gotten eaten... if I hadn't been watching and swooped in to toss the bird into the trees and scoop him up."

"I can go find out. Want a lift?" he asks, twitching his shoulders, a little like he might be preparing for the shift. It isn't very far back they way they came. It shouldn't be too uncomfortable for Prompto.

There's actually a variety of human dishes involving raw fish - it's safe for us to eat provided it's fresh enough.

And it depends on the exact method of cooking. A lot of high-heat methods can be done in only a few minutes.

What a waste it'd be to get transported to another world and be limited to one small patch of land! [He picks up a stray crystal to fiddle with as he talks.] I hope to explore the entirety of it before I leave- I can't imagine what sights will be in store, if this is anything to go by.

It seems like there's some mountains to the west, for a start. They're fairly distant, but I've seen enough sunsets to tell.

Humans tend to stick with close genetic relatives until at least sexual maturity. Not always, but enough of the time that "you were raised by your parents" is a safe enough assumption.

Troll larvae are tended to communally by the Auxilliatrices of the brooding caverns, and turned over to the custody of their lusus naturae guardians somewhere around their primary metamorphosis. Most of us never meet a close genetic relative, or at least not close enough to be positively identified as such.
