What: Girl!Akira actually has no idea what stressful thing Goro's up to at the moment, but her answer to dealing with stressful things after the fact? Cookies.

[She'd been out on the viewing deck still when she'd gotten the text, so she'd sent off a quick response for Goro to meet her in the kitchen after his shower.

She's flitting about in the kitchen when he comes in, a number of ingredients sitting out on the counter--flour, butter, sugar, a couple of eggs, the vanilla extract, a tin of cocoa powder, some chocolate chips, salt... she's just pulling out the baking soda after double-checking her recipe when she turns around and spots him.]

Hey. Up for a little baking, I hope?

[His hair is still slightly damp as he gets to the kitchen, though it's been combed down and pulled into a loose ponytail to keep it away from his new earring. There's a dark storm cloud of a cat trailing behind him, which immediately trots over to the New Person to sniff.]

I'm willing to at least try. It shouldn't go as badly as last time, at least.

[KITTY--

Ahem. She's smiling down at the cat and if she wasn't about to be working with food, she'd reach down to pet the cat.]

Learned your lesson, then? [It's gently teasing as she moves to start preheating the oven.] I thought cookies might be a good remedy to whatever was so stressful.

[Cat does not understand needing to keep hands clean, cat just understands want pets. Thus, the cat will be head bumping Akira's leg now.]

I think I've at least figured out the mixer. I am...pretty tired, though, so I might not be of much help.

Are you alert enough to measure things out, at least?

[She'll retrieve the paper that the recipe is written on so she can hand that over, before getting the mixer out.]

I think I can manage that. I could honestly use something monotonous right now, anyway...

[She nods.]

Start measuring the dry ingredients for me, then?

[She's going to go ahead and put the butter in the mixing bowl she'd gotten out.]

[Floof kitty sees you with a bowl, Akira! He's just going to meow in that tone that somehow manages to perfectly convey 'it's dinner time'.]

Alright...and sorry about the cat. I've had a busy day, and I don't want to leave him cooped up too much.

[His nose wrinkles like he's about to yawn, but he manages to resist the urge as he starts measuring stuff out.]

Not for you.

[That's directed towards the cat. She's making a mental note to feed floof kitty once the cookies are in the oven. As soon as the sugar's measured, she adds it to the bowl and starts mixing.]

That's alright. What were you doing anyway?

I was...working to try to overcome a fear of mine. It's something that would make the animals uncomfortable too, so I didn't want to bring them.

... Fear, huh...

[She hums thoughtfully as she continues creaming the butter and sugar.]

You know, I do have a pair of Wild Clogs that have just been sitting in my inventory if you want to borrow them. I don't know if something that staves off the Fear ailment would do any good against fear that's not from a Shadow's skill, but...

[Since he's being ignored now, the cat is just going to flop over on the floor. Don't you see how hard being a cat is?]

It is worth a try...though, I'd prefer to save something like that for emergencies, or if I can't get past this on my own. I don't want to have to rely on a pair of shoes to be able to stand up to my fear.

[Truly, the most difficult. Once she's satisfied with the butter and sugar, she moves to add the eggs and vanilla.]

The way I see it, you could use them as just a crutch or something until you think you're ready to handle it. There's no shame in something like that, right? Just a little boost until you're more confident in your own ability.

[She tosses the eggshells and gets back to mixing.]

At least, that's what I think.
