level two / viewing deck

[ It reminds him a lot of what the greenhouses back home are like, though he can't say he's ever been allowed to wander around in one before now. Which is exactly why he can be found walking all around the place, fingers brushing over some of the plants (he's not touching any leaves or petals, at least) as he explores.

As he walks, he takes in all the details - the different timers, the types of plants, the specified regions.

The chickens have him extra curious, however - they remind him a lot of one of the creatures from back home. He will be spending a lot of time with these creatures - hell, this place - in particular, so it's perfectly fair to catch him around here. ]

For a species that's clearly meant to be someone's dinner, you sure do talk a lot...

[ Aiden, you can't just confront the chickens for talking too much...

Alternatively, he can be found asleep against one of the walls - doesn't matter if it's chicken room or room filled with plants. If it's a space he can be tucked away for a nap, he's proooobably there.

Otherwise, he's sleeping on the bench swing of the viewing deck. This is primarily how he spends his late nights, because the sea breeze feels damn amazing around this time... It's the closest to Daeseon temperatures he can get, so let him live. ]




level four / etc

[ He's incredibly interested in the runes, even if there's a clear sort of... nervousness? In his body language as he walks around this place. He is going to be incredibly nosy with the desk that's over in the corner, if there's no android present - granted, he will be incredibly nosy even if there is an android present.

At some point, someone might catch him making fire with his hands, literally out of nowhere! And if not fire, he might be making water? (But this is only if the character is super quiet!) He is still curious over the fact that he doesn't feel any different after he used Death Magic... So he's hesitantly experimenting.

Whenever he leaves the fourth level, he heads straight over to the library to begin reading... or dosing off in some chair, most likely tucked away in a corner. And whenever he's not there, he is either in the kitchen or he's outside (whenever it's cool enough / usually at nighttime). If he's in the kitchen, maybe he's being found during one of the times he's holding an orange ice cream sandwich and looking at it as though it's the strangest thing he's ever seen.

Or maybe it's as he's holding the humble pineapple... and staring at that with so much confusion and maybe a little concern. How does one... "Pineapple?"

Or maybe catch him playing darts, and somehow getting bull's-eye every single fucking time, even from over ten feet away??? Challenge him to twenty feet and see what happens! ]

Viewing Deck

Lin's time here had been fairly intense. In a good way rather than a "people are trying to kill me" way. She'd had so many new experiences! So many that she felt like she was losing her focus, and that meant meditating. She was vaguely aware of Aiden coming out onto the deck to nap or whatever, but she was mainly focused on her own shit right now.

From Aiden's point of view, Lin was sitting precariously on the very edge of the viewing deck, legs crossed and eyes closed, breathing slowly.

Fortunately, he's seen some people doing what Bai Lin's doing, and he knows better than to interrupt that kind of thing.

Aiden wouldn't be able to say there's a ton of difference, however, when it's put that way: nobody and nothing is trying to kill him, and he's experienced a lot of new things, since his arrival. While he's wary of lowering his guard, it's still nice. Namely in how he's able to just sit and relax, for the sake of reflecting and sorting his thoughts.

Such as right now - he'll be lying there quietly with his eyes closed, the entire time she's doing her thing.

If he's not going to say anything then they'll just sit their in companionable silence. For a while, at least.

Eventually, Lin stirred.

"Aiden. Hello."

[He'll find Mai in there, apparently... trying to slice a baguette with her plastic sword. It's not going too well. She looks up.]

Hello. Hungry?

[ He looks from the pineapple... to her... back to the pineapple... ]

I couldn't find anything that told me how to slice it, but... yeah.

[ There's a blink as he looks back to the loaf of bread. ]

Seems we're... having similar problems?

...Trying to figure things out.

[She concentrates and suddenly the sword goes through the bread easier than anything, stopping short of cleaving the kitchen counter too.]

Sorry. Unsure about pineapple. I haven't had it fresh. Uncommon at home.

fourth level

[... Well, he was entering the labs to sit down and read one of his tomes, but it looked kind of like-- ah, well, he's not even sure what he saw, whatever Aiden was doing stopped when he walked in.]

... I didn't interrupt anything, did I?

[ Robin will notice there's a suspicious amount of water all around his feet...

... actually, even his shoes and the lower half of his pants are wet. ]

Uhhh...

[ He looks down and then back up to Robin. ]

N-...no?

[... A+ lying there, Aiden. That just gets a raised eyebrow in response.]

[You missed a spectacular sunset, Aiden; Morgana has been sitting and watching the sky change colors and the stars come out, looking for familiar constellations. (Naturally, not a single one of them seems to be even remotely like Earth's.)

It's only when he turns to go back in that he spots Aiden; he actually groans a little in protest, seeing the guy sprawled on the bench like some kind of hobo. Seriously?]

Would it kill you to bring a pillow out here? You're gonna hurt your neck.

[ He'd been deep in thought around the time Morgana decides to speak up.

Which is why he jumps a little--... a lot.

No, seriously, he has to reach out to stop himself from falling out of the swing and everything. When he looks to Morgana, it's with a slightly paler-than-normal face and briefly widened eyes. ]

Uh... [ awkwardly, he's clearing his throat and moving to sit up ] ... Guess I was lost in thought.

I guess so! You look like you've seen a ghost.

[And then, because apparently he can't resist, Morgana playfully raises his front paws and makes ~spooky ghost sounds~ to prove how scary he is. BOOOOoooooOoOOOOoooOOooOOOOoooooo~~~]

[She sees you staring at the ice cream sandwich there, Aiden, and she's raising an eyebrow. You okay there, buddy?]

Never tried an ice cream sandwich before?

[ He shakes his head. ]

I'd never even heard of ice cream before now.

[She'll just go ahead and wander closer.]

[It's an offhand, distracted sort of comment - Izunia has taken over an empty desk (not Charm's) with a few pages of notes and a single massive, light green crystal.

And I do mean massive, the thing's nearly the size of his head. Virtually all of Izunia's attention is on it, his hands hovering just shy of touching it. If Aiden is paying attention, the crystal is clearly wind-element, and generates a small breeze that flows through the room, causing the flames to flicker in one direction from the airflow.]

[ And that sure is the sight of Aiden being a little startled by the voice. For just a split second, he'd forgotten that he is trying to worry less about other people seeing him.

... Plus, this is Izunia; the guy gives him only trustworthy vibes, so... ]

Considering how things worked back home, I didn't risk practicing much with it. But, there's irony in our world, like that. Even though magic turns us, we're all born with a natural ability to control just about any of the common elements: fire, water, healing, and- death...

[ A grim smirk appears, because he realizes that it's probably obvious that he hesitated before saying the last word. There's even more hesitation before he admits: ]

Even though... some of us have a little more unconscious control over it, than might be safe.

[The hesitation doesn't make Izunia bat any more of an eyelash than the rest; he does, after all, tend to assume that most people aren't exactly at his comfort level with death.

With a sigh, he drops his hands away from the crystal. That's not going to work for the moment, at least. The breeze in the room quells just slightly.]

I know that well enough. Had to train myself more than a bit to manage to have a flight response instead of a fighting one; with my magic there's just far too much risk in the latter.

[Though his tone is only a little melancholy, there's a very deep regret under the surface that, well. It's clear that whatever happened, it wasn't just a risk.]

[ It had been a simple message - a request to meet him just three days after the younger man's birthday.

Since it's evening, it's not especially hot outside, and the open air has him far less on-edge than the indoors usually does.

He's walking along the beach in the general meeting area... Though pacing could easily be another word for it? ]

[It's still a little warm by Goro's standards, but not intolerably so. He heads out in one of his summer outfits, simply flying down from the station rather than taking any of the longer or more difficult routes down to the beach. His wings fold behind him and disappear a second after his feet hit the sand, and he tilts his head at noticing the other man is pacing.]

[When Shido walks into the room and he hears a solid, angry thunk of a dart hitting the bullseye just a few feet away, he gives a bit of a startled blink and looks over, then looks to see who's throwing it, and raises an eyebrow.]

Any particular reason you're attacking the dartboard?

[ The suddenly voice has him blinking softly, and he glances over... ]

Oh... Masayoshi...

[ Briefly, he's not even bothering to try hiding the guilt. He quickly pushes that aside, gaze shifting back to the board. Please enjoy the (second) most deadpan tone ever (because Akira is still the self-proclaimed champion, fight him): ]
