IC INTRO - JUNE '18
After the fight with the siren has settled, those characters with phones hooked to the KEystone network will get a text -
Okay, everyone, you had better come back in. There's a storm brewing just off the coast.
Even given Up's usual professionalism, it seems rather... subdued?
----
For once, there are no androids at all to greet you upon your return, or arrival, as the case may be. A shelter has been set up for the boats on the shoreline of Glitterstone, however. By the time you tromp up the lighthouse stairs to the level of the Station itself, the sky is beginning to grey with the promised storm.
There's not the typical feast outside, but there is a fairly extensive taco bar set up in the common room, left unattended as well. The room sign-up sheet and boxes of freebies are also there, complete with the Braille versions, and a note at the bottom of both room sheets reads "If all rooms are full, space has been made in the meeting rooms on the top floor. We'll have additional rooms available as soon as possible."
It does appear that someone has updated the murder counter while you were away, however, for the turning of the week. It now reads 15 weeks without murder.
Other than that, you're free to explore, including in the newly finished sections of the Annex (should you be willing to brave the storm to get between buildings). However, wherever you go, the androids are almost conspicuously absent - even in the medical bay and Down's workstation in the command center.
The meeting room they have for their own private use is securely closed and locked.

... I've never been sick before.
[ With the guild determined to keep the hunters in the best health possible, there was always access to vitamins and countless drugs to stave off illness. ]
Anyway, I'm fin- [ another cough, this one coming with excellent timing ] ... Maybe I just need water.
no subject
[Give him a moment to-- wait, no that's his tome, he's putting that back into his inventory--pull out an unopened water bottle and hold it out.]
no subject
"A psychic inventory. It's a Persona user thing."
Aiden blinks a couple of times before taking it. A couple of seconds after that, he straight-up asks: ]
Are you able to use a Persona, too, then?
no subject
Ah, no, I wish. This ability is one my sister and I developed here.
[He looks a bit sheepish.]
I'm pretty sure we ended up subconsciously manifesting it out of envy for similar abilities...
no subject
... At this point? He thinks he could expect just about anything... Even if his swimming head is making it difficult to imagine much of anything that doesn't involve... flopping over? ]
I actually can't blame you-...
[ He has to pause after the annoying tickle in his throat gets the better of him; once the coughing fit passes, he begins chugging some of that water. But after that, he'll continue talking as though the world isn't tilting a little... ]
I'm pretty sure something like this would have made my life a lot easier.
no subject
It's definitely made things far easier for my sister and I. [A beat.] Well, outside of us accidentally pulling out something of the other's--we actually share the same space. I accidentally pulled out her swimsuit once when I was trying for one of my swords. That was pretty embarrassing.
[Still, Aiden's state can't help but make Robin frown somewhat.]
... You should probably at least get to a seat or something, passing out on the floor again would be a bad idea.
no subject
That's... a pretty remarkable way to be connected. Is there no way to mentally organize or sift through it?
[ The idea of blindly reaching for weapons sounds... dangerous as hell. Holy shit, dude. ]
...
[ He glances to the side for a moment, and then presses a hand to the back of his neck. ]
Fair enough... [ a sigh; he moves to head over to a chair ] ... I used to hate reading.
[ It's said as he takes the book he was reading earlier, setting it in his lap once he's sitting. After a short pause, a hint of sheepishness appears. He isn't usually one for rambling. Maybe he... really is sick. Is a case of loose lips a common side effect? ]
no subject
Practice helps. Of course, given how much I've been using it, that shouldn't be too much of a problem.
[Robin will actually sit down in a nearby chair, chuckling faintly even if he is still worried.]
Yeah? What made that change?
no subject
But with that question, his brow tenses and he glances away. ]
My reasons for doing it.
[ Which isn't a full answer, and he knows it. ]
They do say a lot can change in ten years.
no subject
I can imagine. A lot can change in just two, even.
[A lot can change in minutes, even.]
no subject
Fair...
[ After a short pause, he looks back at the younger man. ]
My name's Aiden, by the way.
no subject
[He offers a gentle smile, a book now sat in his lap where it wasn't before.]
I hope you can settle in well enough...
[Robin still worries about home every now and then. Has the plan gone off without a hitch, even without his and Wren's presence? It's a thought that's bothers him a lot when he finds himself getting too comfortable. Sometimes he wonders if some of the other people at the station have similar worries.
... Still, it's not something he should focus on, he thinks. Not when there's new people coming in that may need help settling in.]
no subject
[ There's a very hesitant pause, and then he looks over. ]
Are you okay?
no subject
Ah, just thinking of stuff from home. My sister and I were in the middle of something big. I"m trying to not worry about it too much since there's not really anything I can do from here.
no subject
Sorry to hear that...
[ It feels cheap, even if he does mean it at least a little? It's... a weird feeling... ]
no subject
[He manages a sheepish smile.]
no subject
... but he doesn't want to give the wrong impression, so he only hesitates a little to elaborate: ]
That's just similar to what I told one of the very first people I met here... Before that, I never used the phrase, and always saw it as- stupid, actually. A reason to downplay the current situation.
[ And, finally, he will explain why it was amusing-- ]
I can't believe it took leaving my entire planet behind...
[ --partially explain... apparently. ]
no subject
You'd be surprised what such a wild change in scenery will draw out.
no subject
[ He's back to coughing, his brow tensing afterwards. He takes a long drink from the water bottle, finishing it off. ]
no subject
[The cough makes him frown.]
... Maybe you should actually go to your room to get some rest... You've claimed one already, right?
no subject
So I can spend hours just staring at a wall, while feeling the exact same way I do now...? No thanks.
no subject
Well, it's obvious you're not going to at least go to the medbay. Which would be the smarter option to begin with.
no subject
...
[ A releases an annoyed groan and shakes his head. ]
I needed to go there to ask about something anyway, so............
[ It that a split second of pouting- no, it's just your imagination Robin!1 ]
Where is this medbay?
no subject
It's over in the main building. I can walk you over there?
no subject
All right.
