What: In spite of the fact that Akira's recently been kind of... difficult to locate, the mun found convenient ways for him to be encountered anyway, including me rolling a 1 on pie-baking.

[ He tells himself that it's just annoying, for the most part. If only as a way to keep himself calm about the whole thing - calmer... maybe? There's no way of turning it off, so what else can he even do? Other people being forced into feeling whatever he's feeling is probably one of the biggest curses he could ever have placed on him.

Needless to say, absolutely no part of him would ever ask for this, but here we are.

For the most part, he's mysteriously always "super busy" for anyone who's tried hanging out with him lately (nevermind that he always finds time to respond back via messages). If anyone catches him, in person, they'll find that he doesn't like to stand very close to even those he's closest to (yep, even the boyfriends). He makes a point of saying he "really should get back to..." even if he does do a fairly decent job at remaining calm during the short interactions.

Almost all of his meals are being made in large quantities, and then stored away in his inventory. He claims it's so he can eat on the go.

Except on the 14th, when he winds up making a pie that looks more like a chunk of charcoal...? No, seriously, it is straight-up black... He can be seen staring at it as though he has no idea what he's even looking at. If anyone asks, they will all pretty much discover the same thing: he dozed off. What's more, is it will be possible for them to literally feel how ashamed he is...

Fortunately, the pie he makes directly after that is essentially opposite in quality, but #neverforgetcharcoalpie...? ]

[ Unlike most days, he can be seen out and about, though it's really for the sake of going from Point A to Point B. He's going to be heading over to see Doctor Strange before anything else. He might also be keeping an eye out for Prompto, primarily. Some part of him is hoping the latter might know what the heck the yellow creature he accidentally adopted even is (also to just... show him the creature, because he feels Prompto would appreciate it)?

The former is so that maybe he can know what the gender is - or, if Prompto, or anyone else he stops along the way, can't tell him anything about it, maybe Doctor Strange can give him an idea of what to feed the little guy... or girl... or... well, anyway.

Captain Kidd, as he's decided to call this poor creature, can be seen in his arms most of the time. They're incredibly small, given their ears are about the same length as their body... In any case, aside from being pretty nervous, they're surprisingly relaxed. And curious... very curious.

Eventually, Akira can be seen fixing the creature some food. He sets her on the counter for maybe a single minute, before suddenly loud crash and the sound of glass shattering, followed by a shrill--

"M-mieu! Mieeeeuuuu...!"

Which is how Akira can be found trying to coax a small, yellow creature out of a very small space... The poor thing looks absolutely terrified, and there doesn't seem to be any chance of getting her out of there. Even offering her fruit isn't doing the trick this time...

Fortunately, the tiny creature does come out eventually.

And that's why, at some point, she can be found curled up against a sleeping dog. It looks pretty relaxed. ]

[ He hadn't expected her to be that successful... if successful at all. Honestly, part of why he jumped into it, had been disbelief. The other part had been... a little desperation. If she really was going to be able to help him, then maybe she'd be able to help the others who needed it. He's more than happy to be walking proof for their sakes.

Which is why he does risk being out a little more often, these days. He can be seen looking far more rested, these days. By the 22nd, he has more energy, and there aren't such noticeable dark circles under his eyes. Whenever he spots someone he is especially close to, he might even initiate physical contact to get their attention. ]

Say, do... you remember the person who offered to help people with bad dreams?

[... Awwww. Before she does anything else, she's pulling out her phone to snap a photo of the tiny critter curled up against the dog. She can't wait to show this to Mai later. Idly, the critter looks... vaguely similar to something she saw in a game once, but she doesn't think too long on that. She just sits down nearby.]

[Considering how it seemed like the majority of the time he saw Akira, he usually had a tired look to him? It's not hard to notice that he already looks a bit more lively. He nods to the teen in greeting.

Ah, that post... he... hadn't responded, because his nightmares... he had them for a reason, right? They weren't the result of trauma most of them, anyway, and he deserved those too, so... why should he be relieved of them?

There's a bit of a twitch to his expression, a brief pinch to his brow, but it smooths out quickly enough.]

... Oh man. You won't believe what I found just lying around.

Well, the sheepishness will be obvious as he clears his throat and glances away. One hand presses to the back of his throat. ]

I, uh... didn't mean to doze off. Normally, I'd think to set an alarm...

[ And the tiny critter blinks its eyes open, slowly looking up at the much bigger human! ]

Mieu...?

[ For now, the dog is still fast asleep. ]

[ Hm. That sure is a discreet shift of expression happening. It's enough to have genuine concern entering the air around them. Briefly, he averts his gaze, working to keep his emotions from leaking into the air.

... Yeah, it's not happening yet, but! He's trying... ]

She's... the real thing, apparently.

[Oh, it's awake now... She smiles gently, keeping her voice quiet.]

[She pulls a strawberry out (she'd been carrying some to keep in her room for snacking on later) and offers it to the creature.]

[ Oh! It recognizes that!! There's a shy sound, but it can't quite resist the urge to slowly move closer... ]

[ It's talking softly, which might imply it's fully aware that the bigger-than-it-is creature version of Akira is still sleeping. But that's not important. Not when there's a food she recognizes being held out to her (granted Akira did offer an apple and other fruits, and even some veggies). ]

[ It's essentially asking if it's really okay to take the strawberry, but its tiny paws sure are reaching for it. ]

[She starts looking at the pie, but stops. Sudden feeling? What? Mai looks at Akira for a moment, then nods, expression unchanged.]

[ He blinks, and then glances back to her. There's a slow exhale as he works to focus his thoughts on something calm. Even so, there's some hesitance to admit: ]

... Just a little more trouble sleeping, than usual. Nothing too serious.

[ But, to the offer of helping, he sets the pie down. ]

I was hoping to bake something my fiances would like.

[ He... owes them all the apologies, after all. ]

[ That's about the time Futaba walks in, stopping short at the sight before her. Mostly because one, there's TWO Akiras now in one area; not that she wasn't aware both of them were around but it was surreal seeing them both in one place at one time. Then there was the strange, cute little critter sitting there nibbling on something.

Okay. Not the weirdest thing she's seen, but it's still enough that she wanders closer as quietly as she can and gently nudges the other girl. ]

...I'm not the only one who things that it looks like it belongs from Legends of the Chasm, right?

[ His expression softens the tiniest bit, and a decent amount of awkwardness suddenly surfaces. Akira pushes that aside and nods, his expression easing into something more serious. ]

... That's not the only reason I approached you, though.

[... Definitely surreal, even if one Akira is currently a dog (not that the girl Akira knows that the dog is Akira).

The female Akira brightens a little as Futaba comes in, then grins a little at the question.]

You're definitely not. I was kind of thinking it seemed familiar... Not exactly the same, but it's definitely close.

[ After the encounter with Morgana and Robin, he took the long way back to the apartments. Not out of hesitation, but to have a moment to clear his head after such an intense experience. Sure he'd calmed down after the laundry room incident, but... he still feels emotionally overwhelmed?

In any case, he's sending Kurama and Goro messages to let them know where he'll be, right around the time he's getting to the door. For all he knows, one or both could already be in there, but what's done is done.

There are several long seconds between the time he sends the messages and the time the door is opened. ]

A good idea. [She starts wiping up the kitchen as she sets ingredients up.] Did you use a recipe at all.

[Goro's already there, sitting on the bed when Akira opens the door. His expression is one that should be familiar to Akira, even if he hasn't seen it for a while: a carefully neutral smile. Still, there's something in his eyes...well hidden frustration.]
